Is that even if you cut bread allowance for lunches down to two slices ?
    I'm not sure :o

I think I've just got spreadsheet blindness!

My way of making the portions work screwed up lesleys ace maths, so I daren't tinker til she's been on to say, but as just a gut reaction, no I don't think it solves it and I'd rather lose the marmite if I can, as long as the health doesn't go Ker-plunk!

Hi Weezl. I am here!

Don’t worry too much, I wouldn’t offer if I couldn’t manage it. The TV is dominated by sport & I don’t like watching any sport! So a few little tasks to keep the little grey cells active would be appreciated! :)

Fair enough. If you are sure you have enough folate - and you just said you are - then the health will not go ker-plunk, now will it :) Go for it....

    thanks juliette :)

where are we for the cooking and prep times? have we got a figure for all of the vegan meals now, or do you need more of the testers to get in touch? Sorry I know you've said this before but I struggle to hold the whole project in my head!

another fab task would involve me sending you a spreadsheet and you checking 5 of the recipes on the ebsites to see where the amounts of ingredients vary :)
Would that be your idea of fun?!

    see I mostly think this...

there's just this other uber conscientious part that worries about a small minority of people who may not have enough stored in their liver, who then do suffer an ill effect because the folate can't compensate!

But then I wonder just how much normal people are able to attend to this level of nutrient detail in their own diets, and so maybe we are not reducing anything health-wise...or are we?

I'd just HATE to be responsible for anyone being ill because I lost a jar of marmite!

But if we publish with a proviso of: but if you're concerned about possible pernicious anaemia or have a familial history of degenerative eye-conditions then buy another jar of marmite, then immediately, it will weaken confidence in the planner on health grounds.

I had previously posted my best estimates on (prep)/cook times based on how much time had been allowed for Shirl & what the recipes said, as follows:

    Panzanella (20)/0
    Onion tart tatin (45)/60
    Pasta funghi (5)/15
    Nut roast (20)/30
    Tomato olive pudding (45)/150
    Red pepper tart (45)/55
    Shepherdless pie (20)/55
    Risi e bisi vegan (20)/25
    Swede cloddies (10)/5
    Moroccan rice (10)/10
    Saag aloo (10)/25
    Red pepper houmous (5)/0
    Sweetcorn fritters (5)/5
    Butternut squash tart (45)/35
    Olive tapenade (10)/20
    Butternut squash risotto vegan (15)/40
    Rice salad (10)/10
Brazil nut & pumpkin seed butter (15)/0
    Red pepper pasta (10)/15
    Veggie burgers vegan (10)/50
    Red lentil pate (10)/20
    Pasta salad (10)/10

There's been no feedback from any testers as to how long anything actually took them, or if I have totally got this wrong! :( And I haven't done the timings for the three batches, as it seems a bit daunting, so it would be really helpful to have feedback from anyone who has actually done these.

I'm happy to check the spreadsheet against the recipes, if you ping it over. :)

I think juliette is assuming shirl/kitty have precooked the chick peas arty :)?

Juliette thanks for that list, sorry we testers haven't been more helpful :o

I did the batches, so I'm happy to have a proper think about those.

The doughnuts are quite labour-intensive aren't they? I think I'll give them a generous 45 mins not including the dough stage...

    Will think further!
