weezl, just had a look at the fb page and someone had posted because she could not find the calzone recipe. I gave link to her, but it took me a full 5 mins to find it  Any chance of putting calzone as a separate entry in the vegan recipe section to avoid confusion?

Also noticed that the ingredients section of both the chili and the cottage pie recipes give 280gm mince but shopping list gives total mince as 1200gm i.e. 300gm per meal. Does this need changing?

I do love the way the site looks, you have all done an amazing job in a very short space of time.

shanks thanks for trying the walnut spread.

Any ideas what might make it nicer? A sweet version with some raisins pulverised in?

Morag:A, I think I can do your links page too soon,:j:j:j but it's an annoyingly long job cos it means changing the menu bar on each page-boo!:(

Oops, left bread a little longer than I should have so it is going to be crunchier than planned.
I don't think that 6 tsp of marmite is enough, so... for anyone else making it, I would probably double it.
You can't taste the marmite in the bread, the wash makes the bread taste like twiglets! I like twiglets.

    :)

this is a good idea morag.

Can we think of a way so that people know you have to make it as part of the batch with the bread? Cos I think when I had it listed seperately it made for a frustrating afternoon for poor Aless, so I changed it...

Happy to go with what people think tho...

ps thanks for giving her the link :)

Perhaps allegra and I can gradually up the marmite and stop before it takes on a marmite flavour?

it wasn't so much that it was a separate entry, it's just that the dough aspect called for "1kg pizza dough", which I had no reference to (as in, was that 1/4 or 1/3 or even 1/2 of a batch of dough??) if I wanted to make it independently. So it needs to be clear enough if a random visitor wanted to make the just the calzones and not part of a larger batch of cooking? 'Cause that's what I was doing and why it was confusing. HTH.

Had a quick look at Kitty's Monthly Menu Planner posted by Allegra and it looks ok. Will have a good look tomorrow as I am out this evening.

Made half quantity of the peanut and kidney bean loaf last night.
Made it the same way as Lesley but omited the garlic powder.
I used 3 tsp marmite in 450ml water, but the mixture was a little too loose, Lesley's about right with 400ml. Baked it in a 1lb loaf tin, filled it nicely so a 2lb tin would probably be right for full amount. Had new potatoes, cauli, carrots and peas with it.

I have to agree with Lesley, it is not one I would cook again could taste marmite and oregano but not much else.

I must hang my head in shame and admit to throwing the remaining portion in the bin.:o (food bin for council composting)

    Sorry Weezl

Perhaps if we mix it in after dividing up into loaves, and add different amounts to different loaves to compare and contrast ?
