    Weezl,

Have you worked out what reduced mix of nuts we are going to use for the less nutty nut loaf? There is no desperate hurry, just want to test it for you. Its really too hot to put the oven on anyway, but if I have to for something else, I could do this too.

what nutritional site/package do you use for the nutritional data? I want to put the meals we eat most in it and see if they are as good as we worked out they would be 2 years ago when we put our current eating plan together!

    thanks

It's called Recipecal. Not very user-friendly, but it is thorough.

have just run this recipe by DP. He isn't fond of breadcrumbs and although the last nut loaf was lovely, he didn't like so many breadcrumbs.

He liked the look of this one - yay. He doesn't like kidney beans, so will sub another type of bean. He's not really as awkward as he sounds on here!

I'll try and do it tom - lamb curry tonight

lesley a copy of that column in the freeze pane on the lhs would be fab, is that lots of work for you?

no, it's very easy. I just need to put the cell ref with a plus sign in front eg +A1. Whichever cell has that formula in it will echo the contents of the cell referenced

I will need your current version of the spreadsheet to do it, I can do it straightaway.

Or you can do it if you feel brave enough? Not a challenge, just a suggestion to save you time. I am here, so can send it back immediately if you'd rather I do it, which I don't mind at all

    Hello everyone :D

I do hope everyone is well :)

Off to read/catch up now xx

:oI'm afraid I'm not fully caught up myself

fergie has been doing some good water play in my parents garden. He has also sampled moss and stones for flavour. And almost a slug:eek:

but yay! that potty is back:T:T:T:T

and yay for lesley's spreadsheet help and for ASC popping back to help further with the nutrition page :)

Arty, that's fab that Mr arty has been pondering :)

My dad and I are drafting a spec of what it'd need to be (nothing worse as a developer to not have a clear brief and go off and do lots of work in the wrong direction, as I'm sure Lesley will agree from her background!)

yay that murrell and lesley are road testing the frugalised nut roast :)

Erm... I'm sure there was more!

been wondering about adding an emergency shopping list at some point, been quite touched by theb thread on OS about a lass with literally no money :( for food for 2 weeks. Makes me think that at those points you'd give up on whether you had enough b12 or whatever, and just concentrate on the cheapest way of getting calories in, with a bit of spare change you'd found down the back of the sofa!

Yay for sand eating, you're not a proper parent until your child has tried to eat the beach, but the nappies afterwards - bleurgh.

Glad to hear fergie is so determindly exploring his world. Who knows, slugs maybe nom!

Another triumph in the Qos household for myself and OH that might suit Kitty or someone.

edit : I think its called tricolour something ;-) ( I made that up, can you tell? )

Make mash. Arrange mash in blobs in bottom of oven proof dish, make sure you leave spaces between blobs.

Make sauce from 2 tins of toms ( poss 1 would do, but ours are all 800g so no choice.) 1/2 onion, garlic , herbs, chili by chopping and frying onion and flavourings, adding toms and reducing a bit. Add a handful or two of spinach and let it wilt ( or stir it in if canned/frozen).

Pour sauce over mash blobs. If vegan, coat with breadcrumbs, if not vegan, you can add some tiny cubes ( 1/2cm square) of cheese.

For both put in oven until a bit brownish.

( I know spinach was a possible as it featured in the sag aloo )

    Nom :D

I am finding that very small amounts of cheese in very tiny cubes, go an awful long way btw.

I am very very lucky with my OH, he is really open to trying new things and is really supportive and helpful with new mad things, like this thread!! I had just taken this for granted a bit, but reading other people's horror stories has made me much more aware and appreciative. Another good thing to have come from this thread!

Can you tell me if the peanuts in this recipe are plain or salted please as I would like to try it.
