So, recipe writing. In theory I am totally on board but I am a little confused, do I need to actually make them so that I can write the instructions from the inside point of view? I am happy to do that tomorrow afternoon. If not then I am not sure what to write. Anyone else understand and can explain it to me?
Maybe I need more sleep and then it will become clear.God is good, all the time

Dear all,
Murrell I know you are a busy lady, but while i was reading pinkhayley's growing your own guide, I wondered about that research you did about how herbs are very high in some of our key nutrients. (and if shirl/kitty could be persuaded to sprout their mung beans too!) I wondered if you might fancy compiling a little add on page about how growing some herbs would be great for upping the family's vits even though we only use a little at a time
Hiah,
I am sure I could do something like this. I shall have a think about it tomorrow and see what I can do. If I get time, I will do it tomorrow, otherwise I am off Tues/Wed/Thurs so will do it sometime then.

I just thought I would pop on and say the Calzone is AMAZING :j
OH is a massive calzone fan and he loved it too so, roaring success. Weezl you rock \m/0 -
Re the linky from the main recipe page to the tester recipes, it didn’t seem to work for me at first, but I found that the pointer needs to be just on the underline, where the underline disappears, the pointer turns into a hand & the piccie appears & then click without moving it at all from there! Moving even a few millimetres from there & the underline reappears, the hand turns back to a pointer & doesn’t work as a link. I think there is a temptation to move to the piccie, which isn’t the link.
Hope that makes sense & might help someone. I am not very technically minded & had to run it through a few times to see why sometimes it was fine & sometimes seemingly not. On Mum’s lappy yesterday I had trouble with some links (not just on this site) but I am used to a PC, but Dad said she frequently has problems with links etc. (She has only just started using the internet & even emails, even though Dad is a software engineer, started programming in the 1970s & the house has had multiple networked machines for years!)
Mum didn’t mention what would encourage her to try the plan, despite her belief that Dad wouldn’t be on board. So I’ll ask her! But I did wonder if there was already some ideas on this from those who had already tested the plan, with a typical Bob type OH.
I know that my Mum & Dad’s situation is personal to me & they have other issues going on that would limit some of the usefulness, they are not the target audience as such, etc. Though I think that the newly retired is a group that would generally benefit from saving money, due to a likely drop in income, but would be more time rich than us working Mums!
BTW the batch cook of bread etc. on the testing recipes is still showing as easy.
I would reiterate that I think this is a fantastic project that will help so many people. I agree that I think it would be helpful to mention will still save money even if only partly used (which I think has been mentioned in this thread & is how I am likely to use it). I also love the piccies & agree that the bright ones are most appealing, such as the pepper tart & bean pate. On the recipe page the pasta carbonara has a piccie of raw pasta. I think fried onion & bacon (on the specific recipe page) is more appealing than raw pasta!0 -

Calzone Recipe.
Second paragraph of method says fry onions and seasoning in oil, but no onions listed under tomato sauce ingredients.
No mention of when to add marmite to bechamel sauce"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us" Alexander Graham Bell0 -

Bigjenny, the onions go in the bechamel sauce ('twas my understanding anyway!) and they are listed under there.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
