I am happy to summarise rather than forward them all verbatim but I got the impression that the unhelpful e-mail was trolling, I might be wrong but they said a lot of things that weren't representative of the site. My interest in adding something about the nutrition was to immediately silence that type of criticism by saying "we looked at a family of 4 with 2 teenage children, the planner looks at the following nutrients and has been developed accordingly to meet those needs" with the hidden message of "don't you dare accuse me of not thinking this through after the hundreds of hours of calcium-gate and omega-gate".
I am incredibly sensitive to criticism and I can imagine, even on a supportive forum like this, that all those little niggles we keep throwing at you become a bit of a pain. Is there any way to avoid that, like have someone we PM with any small changes needed who can just send you them in a little list?
Thats me Sian i have a to do list for Weezl that i update as and when i am on here. The things are fairly small but faffy so whilst not difficult will prob be time consuming for Weezl. Please feel free to PM me with things and i will then depress the heck out of Weezl by sending her a mega huge list. She will then start singing badly at me in return because that is how our boss/secretary relationship works.0 -
poor tired sian
I mean, if I sling you a list of ingredients and a title, can you make it sound more like a recipe? :rotfl:I've made them, I just can't make my brain spell it out like a recipe!
I am happy to do things like that too:) My brain must have been really tired on Monday night when I thought I had sent you the utensil measurements. I hope you received them this time.
I have started going through the vegan/vegetarian recipes. Do you want the same layout for them as the plan 1? If so I will go through them like I did the others if that is okay with you.
It is very quiet here today so I have some undisturbed time to do it. Even the dog has gone out:):)
Last night DS2 asked if he can do some tweaks to the savoury scone recipe. He wants to add some baking powder. Has anyone tried it like that? Just wondered before we play about with some ingredients later.
ETA I must have cross posts. Do I send the info to you now shanks?business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thanks aless. As there is only the two of us (3 if you count my disabled mom who I regularly cook for although she doesn't live with us) this usually makes enough for 6-9 portions depending on what I serve with it.
If you use a smoked bacon (I generally use sainsbury's cooking bacon which is just offcuts and often has some lovely chunky bits of smoked bacon in it) it gives it a lovely flavour.0 -

This thread is like one of those novels you can't put down. I have so much to do but every time I pass the computer I have to check out the latest posts!!
Weezl - don't let the doubters get you down. Some people just like to rain on other people's parades. You all have done a brilliant job in such a short space of time.
You should be proud and rightly so.0 -

If I don't have lasagne sheets I make big thin home made pancakes and either use them as lasagne sheets or put chicken base and white sauce on top, roll into sausage shapes in dish, top with white sauce and grated cheese and cook in oven.
Re "getting Bob on board"
DH used to ask me if I was "being extra thrifty" as we seemed to be eating so much better.
I would be making huge flans, homity pies, home made rolls, pancakes, pizzas and his favourite soups especially pea and ham and a turkey thigh in the slow cooker gave lots of meat for flans etc. for about a £1!
When really skint once I sauted left over potatoes and stuffed large mushrooms with odds and ends of cheese, onions etc and DH wolfed it happily.
The secret is never to "say" you are economising as then they feel hard done to and somehow missing out.
I say either that i am experimenting or trying out a new recipe but never mention money saving in that context."This site is addictive!"
