    Hi Weezl

Just had a quick look at the site and like the new hover pictures, calorie, fat and prep time additions. Will have a good read later.

One quickie, hover picture on butternut squash risotto is different from one on recipe page.

    Have a great weekend.

I'm sure sian is working hard to filter me from the dross :):A I think she was keen that we make the nutrition parts more robust to protect ourselves.
Sian, if you're reading, it wasn't that email which caused how I felt, I hope you know that :o.

Well we have only had that one e-mail from someone who didn't tell me their username on here, but then we haven't really asked all of our new Shirley's to send us bucketloads of comments, as we have said that we are a small team and may not respond. I am happy to summarise rather than forward them all verbatim but I got the impression that the unhelpful e-mail was trolling, I might be wrong but they said a lot of things that weren't representative of the site. My interest in adding something about the nutrition was to immediately silence that type of criticism by saying "we looked at a family of 4 with 2 teenage children, the planner looks at the following nutrients and has been developed accordingly to meet those needs" with the hidden message of "don't you dare accuse me of not thinking this through after the hundreds of hours of calcium-gate and omega-gate".
I am incredibly sensitive to criticism and I can imagine, even on a supportive forum like this, that all those little niggles we keep throwing at you become a bit of a pain. Is there any way to avoid that, like have someone we PM with any small changes needed who can just send you them in a little list?

I do so hope you are not discouraged by this. Imagine if only one person read the resource and went on and sorted out their food spending, taking their family a little further out of debt and starting an upwards spiral that meant they worried a little less and lived years longer without the burden on them. Where our Shirley felt a little more accomplished because she could make bread and pastry from scratch, where Jenny and Jason learnt how to cook and eat, where Bob saw the benefits to his health from eating healthy things and went to work with lunches that filled him up. Wouldn't that be worthwhile, if you knew that for just one person it made that much difference? And what you have created is almost certainly going to have more impact. When Shirley has a friend round for a cuppa and they try her carrot cake and ask for the recipe, when student Jason is able to whip up a delicious pasta meal for his housemates and they ask how he learnt to cook and why he has so much more beer money than them even though he eats like a king every night, where Bob tells his workmates that he really liked the chicken pie last night and points them to the resource so that they can make it too, where Jenny can say to her friends at Sixth Form that it is silly that they spend £2.00 on a ready meal for lunch when they could save that money for other things and eat this really tasty hummus...
And that is just from one visitor.
Someone else may come on and find your pie recipes and use them and never decide to cook any of the other recipes but for the rest of their days, your recipe becomes their 'standard' and what they pull out when they know they need to make something good. Someone else may learn how to make bread and use that for their kids' lunchboxes from now on. Someone else may... you get the picture any way. The resource will have impacts of which you are never aware. The little community you have gathered around you here shows how you have inspired us all, and I hope you recognise the warmth there is here. :kisses3:

Wow, that was a lot of text, hope you made it until the end Weezl! :D

    Aw :o thank you!

I really wanted the food to look nice to combat a feeling of 'oh it'll be yucky cos it's so cheap!'

If you were able to give me specifics on which ones have best 'yum' factor and why, that will help me to hopefully keep shooting ones which will entice shirl!

(PS Didn't own a camera when I met him!;))
