    Hi Aless

Method says fry onions and seasonings in the oil, add tomatoes and reduce down until it is a thick glossy sauce.

It does say add onion rings to bechamel sauce, but is that all of them or are they split betwen the two sauces.

Ahhh i see!! Yes, quite confusing. Weezl's piccie doesn't look like there's onions in the tom sauce, so just needs to be reworded slightly so that u can tell they are being fried for the white sauce. Well spotted :D

Hello Weezl, I'm a long time lurker with no right to any opinion and I wasn't sure whether to post or not, but fwiw, here are a few thoughts.

Firstly, what you have achieved is amazing and I really don't want any of this to sound like a criticism :)

Secondly, my pc is poorly so I'm trying to keep up with this a day in arrears on my phone so apologies if any of this has already been covered (and also for typos!)

With reference to the troll, I suspect nothing will ever be good enough for people like that so ignore them. Having said that, the amount of time you did all spend on nutritional research really does not come over on the site. I'm not suggesting recreating calcium-gate on there, but imho, pop up boxes don't do it justice (especially if you're trying to view it on a mobile!) and the current FAQ section feels a bit patronisising for want of a better word. A bit "yes, yes we've thought of all that so don't worry your pretty little head about it" iyswim.

Also, some of the screens don't align properly on a mobile - far from high priority but I figured you'd rather know (?). From memory it's the tables that are a problem, but I'm happy to confirm the rest if you ever want to look at it.

I really really hope I haven't offended anyone, I just wanted to give an opinion from a distance as it were.

    Hello and welcome :)

Please can you say a bit more about what would be better?

Is it that we have an answer to the questions so it seems arrogant is that what you mean?

I kind of get it but I can't think of a way to represent the information that isn't question and answer IYSWIM?

Or is it that it's different questions?

they probably aren't the questions that nice normal people would ask, they are a bit antagonistic I guess, is that part of it?

And yes! Some screen grabs or descriptors of how we're rendering on a mobile would be great! From dim memory we need a new stylesheet....

arty is that the kind of thing mr arty might fancy learning a bit about and reporting back?

the question would be: how do websites make provision for people on mobiles, PDAs and iphones etc?

ISOM, only a text about K going to minster, but I replied to that one (thanks but no thanks basically!)x

Thanks for taking that so well!

From memory (when I snuck a quick peek at work) your pop up boxes go into "why instant oaty cereal" for example but I think all that information could also be held together somewhere. Maybe it's just me but the faq seem a bit glib (again, not really the right word) but I do understand that you don't want to make the site too wordy. I'll go back and re-read that bit and try to come up with something better when I have fewer distractions.

I will also go back to the site and make some notes on which pages don't quite work when DH finally decides to get up and is able to assist with said distractions.

I'm sorry not to have been involved in this project, I am in awe of what has been achieved. Sadly, my "Bob" is suspicious of anything that doesn't come out of a packet and my children are too small for much of an opinion beyond like/don't like. I have used a few recipes however and hope to do more, it's just a very gradual process!

:) I think it was clear from your wording that you had thought a lot about not being hurtful in the way you expressed it, and I valued that.

My main 'issue' has been with the people who feel negative about the project, but rather than either walking away, or contributing in a friendly encouraging way, have chosen another type of response, becoming an internet 'troll'. But it was very clear you were positive towards us, and not like that at all :D

Even with a suspicious 'bob' you have a lot to offer, because you can see how the nutrition FAQs might come across, this is very valuable. I'll look forward to your alternative suggestions whenever you get a chance :)

    I'm scared. Where is everyone?
I am still awaiting slightly more instruction Weezl, regarding recipes. Did you want me to try them out? Sorry if I am a little daft. I realised I needed more sleep when this morning I tried to put the kettle away in the fridge. Oops

    hope everyone is okay :) x x x

Re the linky from the main recipe page to the tester recipes, it didn’t seem to work for me at first, but I found that the pointer needs to be just on the underline, where the underline disappears, the pointer turns into a hand & the piccie appears & then click without moving it at all from there! Moving even a few millimetres from there & the underline reappears, the hand turns back to a pointer & doesn’t work as a link. I think there is a temptation to move to the piccie, which isn’t the link.

Following your comments I've found that if I click below the line rather than on it I can get to the new recipes. Many thanks.
