Have you been watching History Cold Case? (Not sure what channel it's on but I watched it on iPlayer.) They featured the Huntarian Museum in the second episode.

Ooo, no, I'll have to go hunt it down tomorrow. I recommend it to anyone coming to London - I'm such a geek :D. (but is not for the squeamish or people who don't like medical-y stuff)

Weezl, i'm thinking of doing the vegan onion tart tatin tomorrow.

Does the salt in the decription refer to the mustard by mistake or do I add salt and mustard. There is no mustard in instructions.

Also what temp do you put the oven onto originally before putting it down to 180C. This isn't clear from the instructions.

Also do you use 2 dishes or once the onions are cooked just put the pastry on top. Sounds like 2 dishes, but i imagine its not.

    Hope this makes sense

Hi i assume from the other onion tart that there is no salt but just use the mustard in the pastry. I dont see any instructions about turning down the oven temp am i missing something?. And if its the same as an apple tart tatin then i would just be using the one dish. HTH but i am sure Weezl will be on tomorrow to put you right xx

2 potential jobs it would help me to delegate:

anyone willing to keep a 'project do list' where everytime someone gives me a task, or I give out a task, someone notes it in one master list so we can see where we've got to and someone can nag me :)

Suggestion: someone like hornetgirl/shanks/sallygirl who are tops at detail would be good for a task like this :)

Seeing at how good you are at sucking up:rotfl:I can do this unless someone else is really keen.
  • Congrats Howlin hope you had a lovely day.

Is it looking any clearer now murrell?

Ho you still have any hot oaty stuff?

I tried subbing all the flour for it, which was nice but hard to make the disc to sit over the onions.

We may need to use this dish as one of the ways of incorporating it though, so I wonder if you have any in, whether you'd mind subbing 50g of it for 50g of the flour?

It kinda makes the pastry taste more wholemealish, if that's a word!

    xx

OK, i think i understand it now. I was assuming when the oil got heated in the oven proof dish, that it was in the oven. I do all the cooking of the onions in the oven proof dish on the cooker top, then top with pastry and cook in the oven? The only thing is I dont have mustard powder and i'm not sure that if i put liquid mustard in, how it will be, I am assuming i will just need less water. Hope i'm right!
I will sub 50g and let you know how I get on.
