Best way to complain about a postie?

I complained about our postie via the website once as he kept misdelivering mail all over the place i.e my uncle (who lives a LONG way down the road) would get our mail and vice versa and we don't even share the same name! You can't always rely on the person who gets it to deliver it or put it back in the mail. His boss had a word with him and then one day when I was in the garden he spoke to me about it

It was a bit awkward :rotfl:but he apologised and said he would take more care when he was sorting it at the office in future as this was the problem.
It improved for a while but he is still about and still misdelivering mail :rotfl: We actually moved now - although not far so he is still our postie and as he knew us he gave us a free redirection service
Which would be absolutely fantastic if he didn't still misdeliver it! I don't want to report him again though as he thought he was doing us a favor
and I actually think he is an alright chap.
Sorry i've rambled on. Mainly the point is just do it online and his boss will just have a wordDFW Nerd #11520 -
I wish we had one postie, we seem to have about 10 different ones for some reason. Either a different one every day, or every week. It's been like this for years now.
Most of them are brilliant though, but I wish we stuck with one.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
He seems a lovely bloke and is very polite
If you've got to know him well enough to decide the above, why not have a quiet word with him ?.................

I don't know him at all tbh. He's always been polite and jokily friendly if he's had to ring the bell in order to deliver something that's too big for the letterbox and he's always got a friendly word for people on the passing.
That's what I based my thoughts on, I've not actually had a proper conversation with him.Herman - MP for all!

In your shoes, in the first instance I'd have a quiet word with him, rather than talk to management. Workers solidarity and all that

We had lots of issues over a couple of weeks - post left on pavement outside, next doors post et etc. OH complained to the sorting office. Anyway, week later our postie knocked on the door saying that he was aware we had complained and he wanted to know what the issues were......I thought that he might be about to get bit arsey, but as it happened he was just concerned. Told him what had happened and when, and it turned out it was while he was on holiday! he was chuffed it wasnt him and told us that there had been quite a few complaints about the other guy.
Think we should all allow the odd error but if its regular then mention it to the sorting office - if its one odd comlaint then he wont get fired.0 -
Report it online every time it happens...

My postman always puts "signed for" items through my letterbox without asking me to sign for them because he can't be bothered to hang around  What a waste of money that service is.

Hi
I live in the Highlands too and often get mail delivered incorrectly. I just take it back to P.O. (we live in a tiny village and so the incorrect delivery is noted).
If you think you are not receiving some mail phone the P.O. I had this problem and it ended up being quite a high level enquiry. In my case it was mail from down south and Edinburgh that went missing. I never did find out what happened but the problem seemed to be "further south" and was sorted out quite quickly. They will take it seriously.0 -

as a regular on the duty most posties will want to know whats happened
maily to make it clear its not them
i have raised it before but its a common trait by the management to say X postie was so much better/faster when you were on holiday
faster isnt better if they are cutting corners left right and centre
you will even see it on the forum where folks say X postie is lazy as the other guy gets here earlier0
