Best way to complain about a postie?

Our postie is useless. He seems a lovely bloke and is very polite, but he's less than efficient, shall we say.
We've had mail for our neighbours on several occasions and we've also had mail go missing (most recently a birthday card with scratchcards in). Obviously can't prove anything but my gut feeling is that the postie has delivered it to someone else and they've kept it.
Anyway, I got 2 letters for my neighbour the other day. I took them round to her and she mentioned she's had mail for folk in the next street, never mind just next door. She reckons he's useless too. :undecided
This isn't just a one-off or a poor bloke having a bad day, he seems careless and I'm getting a bit fed up with him tbh.
Question is, do I try to have a word with him (if so how do I say 'stop being so flipping useless' :rotfl:)....or do I phone the sorting office and have a word with his boss?
I'm not looking to get him into trouble but will saying anything to him directly, do any good, I'm not sure.
What would you do?

id have a quiet word with him and tell him if you carry on getting mail for wrong houses you will have to speak to his boss. that way hes been warned and if it carries on it wont come as a surprise when he gets pulled up by his boss.0

Our postie was useless too, dropping post all over the streets & not noticing!
Anyway, i did a complaint online through the Royal Mail website & i think they may have just had a word with him as he did seem to improve for the next couple of months - but then he disappeared
Hopefully, they just changed rounds!! xxDo good and good will come to you.0 -

please have a quiet word with him, he may be going through personal problems that you know nothing about.
If he suddenly stopped coming and you found out he'd been sacked how would you feel then, really really guilty.
Give the guy at least a fighting chance please.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Ah mumslave....I like that idea. Might compensate for the scratchcards that went missing. Cos I know they were winning ones.

That's always a possible but this has been going on for a long time, if he has problems that are interfering with his work for that many months then maybe he should be signed off.Herman - MP for all!

try the mousetrap. When he knocks on the door and asks you why you did it, just say....to check if you were awake when delivering mail and not sleepwalking because you are rubbish at it.:starmod:Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1189:starmod:0
