I hate my post office! Any similar experiences?

Kidsgrove post office is the same - locally known amongst ebayers as the dragons den!

I still can not understand the attitude of many post office staff towards people spending money with them when there have been so many closed recently. Surely ebay sellers putting money into them should be embraced, not scowled upon?

not to get into the CS side of things but PO's shutting and generating profits are separate issues
plenty of profitable PO's have been shut

I moved house a few weeks ago, I really liked my old post office, they were always really nice, you did get the usual long queue but only ever after 4pm, whereas my new post office, there is a queue no matter what time it is, they seem to have 3 people working behind the counter but yet only 1 of them actually serves people, the woman that does serve people seems very rude and treats you as if you dont have a clue what your doing and they dont even do car tax:eek:

I have 2 post offices near me. One is a big, proper post office and the other is a small, family run post office that sells a lot of other tat.

Funnily enough, the small post office is rubbish and the old man in there always seems really rude and annoyed that he has to actually do any work. He makes loads of errors too. They don't speak the best English so I have to explain everything several times until they understand.

The big post office is great and the staff are really friendly. The only negative is that the queues are always really long and take ages to move.

I like the big post office, it's really nice and the staff are always helpful. I know in December they had two queues, one for post and one for car tax, and they always ask if you want help. Apart from one man who went in the wrong queue and started kicking off, but he was an alky anyway so he woulda complained at anything that meant he didn't get his money.

Not post office counter staff, but royal mail picking up post from work is driving me mad, we now have to sort into:

• parcels into a normal post sack (seperate sack for first and second class)
• 1st class large letters with the franked mark in the same direction in a tray
• 2nd class large letters in another tray
• 1st class regular letters in another tray
• 2nd class regular letters in yet another tray
• Recorded & Special Delivery seperate again

Stil trying to figure out what to do with airmail!

And if we don't sort it all, they state delivery will be delayed and they send us an additional invoice.

well this is because they are trying to modernise the service and reduce manual handling
look on it that you get a discount for sorting the mail,not charged extra for not doing it
its the same for walksorted mail,if companies sort it to walksort they get a cheaper price

I did suspect we do the sorting so RM can save money! It's not that bad for my department, but payroll are having fun with 13,000 employees

Staff in my local PO are absolute harridens. I used to think it was just me but then there were a flurry of letters to the local paper about their dreadful attitude and general uphelpfulness. Admittedly it has improved since then, they obviously took some notice of the criticism.

I've started pre stamping my post at home and dropping it off at the delivery office every day and they couldn't be nicer. I am welcomed like a hero and sometimes they even take my bag straight through for sorting and even stuff I've handed in late afternoon 2nd class has arrived next day.

They have even given me a little laminated desk top card of the new postal prices as I was trying to work from a copy i downloaded that is all wonky.
