Hermes chucked my 2 parcels round the side of my shed (at the rear of the property) - bit more secure than some but it's still not ideal is it?

My order turned up and the items do not fit! They are online only and therefore cannot be taken back to the store. I rang up and they said it was necessary to return the items [£2 charge] and then i should order again toget the size I need. whoops - looks like I have lost my points and my discounts. Never mind - a good idea for those whose clothes fit.

Weanie - just take them back to a store, say you have lost the receipt from buying them there the other day & they should let you exchange them for different sizes or even different clothes to the pricethat is on the tags of the clothes. This is what I did yesterday.

I have also done this, I got £50+ worth of clothes for clothes I paid about £16 for online. :T

Tried to exchange one over-sized item today.
It was tagged @ £20, was reduced to £15 when I bought it online, but now scans at £10 at the till.
I was told that without a receipt, they'd only allow me to exchange it for the current scan price of £10.
Though with the receipt I would get even less than that, as the various discount codes brought this item's price down to £7.78 :)

I hoped a partial (page 2/3) print-out of the order confirmation email would suffice as proof of purchase, as this showed the order no. & base item prices, but not the discounts & total price paid.
Unfortunately was told it had to be a full receipt :(

Also they wouldn't give a gift voucher, only exchange for non-grocery item upto the same value.
As they didn't have an equivalent item, or anything else of interest, I opted to keep the over-sized item.
Will take it to a different Tesco's tomorrow & try my luck there; hopefully i'll get a less on-the-ball CS assistant.

    How deceitful.

What are you expecting/hoping to get from them?

Clearly tesco are correct to insist on full receipt when there are shoppers like you trying to get more than you paid back.

It's not deceitful. Tehjumpingjawa has already got clothes at a reduced price due to the glitch on the codes. All she would be doing is swapping them for different clothes to the same value. Tesco won't be any the worse off than what they would have been if all the clothes that he / she had already purchased actualy fitted.

exactly. some people are also thinking they are getting even more of a bargain when they have exchanged clothes for the same value as the price tag. they haven't 'made' more money, they are just maintaining the original discount, which, as above, is only what they would have had if the clothes had been suitable in the first place!

they wouldn't let me exchange different types of clothes, for the same value, at my store. i just had a refund on what i actually paid. my cs assistant was arsey and didn't want to do it cos 'the computer said' something different to what she liked. i had to use my ever diminshing charm just to get a refund...
personally, in their quest for world domination, i think tesco is becoming an uncoordinated shambles.what, with ever increasing glitches (especially the cd points shambles) and unhelpful, differing store-to-to store cs/policy, let alone differing subsidiary policy, they deserve all that they get....it won't take long for the worms to start to turn.....
