Good day, my friends. I am walking around exercising my leg and writing. Yep, all done, vein taken out, all explained. It was the right decision although this is costing me about £1,000. For two days I had high blood pressure again and am not certain whether it was because I am such wimp and was worried about the operation or the thought of our net wealth declining by this amount. Thank goodness, although for now it is on a credit card we have money to cover the bill. Have to check whether my issuance will pay some of this.

I am talking about money because this is what concerns me but we should remember two things: I am my main asset and in the UK this would have costed three times as much.

Otherwise, I am in this brand new, clean and really nice hospital. The staff are wonderful; all of them. My room is cleaned twice a day which is something (last time I was in hospital the room was cleaned once in nine days). Food is not wonderful but it is hospital after all.

And I have been instructed to walk as much as I can; regretfully running is off for at least a month.
