Hello i am still on page 88 but im nearly to the last page and i had to post... i really LOVE how you write.. i will begin reading the blog at some point... I am currently on the "jar system" i dont know if thats what you call it but its t harv ekers way .... and its working great i love it infact.... although i have "negative wealth" i am choosing to pay minimums and adopting the LTSS approach when i reach an amount that will clear the designated negative wealth and i deposit it on to the chosen card/loan and then i feel positive towards the fact im closing it down, plus i can see on the other hand i can save ..... yes it may cost me more intrest but i figured better to approach in a positive manner rather than feeling i am sending money into a black hole if that makes sense..... anyway enough rambling from me i wondered if you had read any of mike dooleys books or utilised his website tut adventures, i get daily emails from the universe and it all helps towards the positive thinking :o... Back to reading now i look forward to more posts and sorry for gate crashing :p

Welcome to the 'discussion' diary, Happytogetdeptfree. Thanks for reading and do keep writing. I will have a look at the 'jar system' - I am not sure whether I have come across it. Ekers I have read The Secrets of a Millioannaire Mind (which I did enjoy and found very useful; in fact intent to write a review for the blog).

As to paying negative wealth - whatever works for you is what I say. I am not going to extremes to pay it back and it is going down very fast. We have an automated payment every month and we also put against it every additional income we have (OH works for himself so it is mostly his 'side hustle' we put in). It will be gone very soon so we can start building serious wealth.

Did I say that I want to be rich? Rubbish! I will be wealthy!

FW, I'm glad you've managed to do what you need to do ... and of course, thats a very emotional thing, to put your dad's ashes in your mum's grave. Very beautiful too. Like the others, I hope you can have a real break now - is it nice to be in your country of origin, and hear your first language spoken around you?

Lara: many congratulations! Don't know whats going on tonight with it all, but stay safe.

  • Afternoon, yes it is the t Harv eked jar system , I have read part of the book but I have a live audio recording where he discusses things, advises us to create habits etc etc such a simple system and it works. Dont get me wrong when I achieve 55% or less on necessary items I will feel great it's much higher than that, more to do with the minimum payments of negative wealth which is short terms so no doubt it will be soon at 55% always something to smile about. I notice you say you normally only spend half your play account? And use other half for holidays just an idea Harv discusses longterm saving spends, get into the habit of spending your play account and if you find you can put holiday spends into the ltss accounts. On the audio he says 3 months play can only be accumulated then has to be spent... At the moment I quite cheerily add we spent our £1 on some latte sachets at Aldi and we enjoy them, at the moment we can only committ £10 to split between the jars we will gradually build that up what's important is im building the habit :-) xx

Sorry, correction. It means 'mortgage free in 3 years). Which is stretching but not impossible goal.

MG, go for it! Till now you 'cut your coat according to your cloth.'. The time to expand the cloth has come - and I am very pleased and excited for you.

    How can I help?;)
