Have been up for some time now - thank goodness getting up before six is not that unusual these days. Still, I am on vacation and this feels very wrong (here it was shortly before 8 but I did go to bed after 2 last night). It is all OH, I am afraid. Again! This time he decided at obout 5 local time that it is too noisy outside and closed the door - of course I got very hot and got up and everyone else in the house is still asleep.
This gave me time for some writing - I may need to do a 'cold turkey' on electronics though. Can't seem to keep away. Anyhow, just finished a blog post and may start on another one. Did you know that being tired is very financially costly? I need sleep!

Tired can be emotionally costly, and for me is costly because when tired, I eat! It looks like you and OH have different sleep patterns and need different environments in order to sleep, as you've mentioned things similar to this before.
Enjoy the rest of your break. When you say 'no electronics' do you just mean no internet, or are you meaning a full cold turkey, no kindle, no phone?

Gilli, I meant the whole 'cold turkey' thing but now that you mentioned all I will have to give up it does sound rather dramatic and scary.

Poor FW! Your light's out, hopefully you had some time back in bed - tho I suspect that at this time of day, with the time diff, you're up and doing. Gill raises some good points there - and I really hope you get some good sleep soon.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hello i am still on page 88 but im nearly to the last page and i had to post... i really LOVE how you write.. i will begin reading the blog at some point... I am currently on the "jar system" i dont know if thats what you call it but its t harv ekers way .... and its working great i love it infact.... although i have "negative wealth" i am choosing to pay minimums and adopting the LTSS approach when i reach an amount that will clear the designated negative wealth and i deposit it on to the chosen card/loan and then i feel positive towards the fact im closing it down, plus i can see on the other hand i can save ..... yes it may cost me more intrest but i figured better to approach in a positive manner rather than feeling i am sending money into a black hole if that makes sense..... anyway enough rambling from me i wondered if you had read any of mike dooleys books or utilised his website tut adventures, i get daily emails from the universe and it all helps towards the positive thinking
... Back to reading now i look forward to more posts and sorry for gate crashing

Hello Everyone
Hope you're having a really great working holiday FW. Take time to enjoy some good rest too. Well I am now officially a married lady! The wedding was on Saturday, and it was just brilliant. The day ran so smoothly, and everything just seemed to fall into place. I wore a dress I really loved, and a white bowler hat made by one of my best friends who is also a milliner. Paul had a black trilby and a very smart three-piece suit.
We got married at the local registry office and then went to this tiny boutique hotel, which is the home of a wonderfully eccentric (and very talented) interior designer. We had a nice cup of tea, an interesting chat, and got some pictures taken. Then we went to the University chapel for a little blessing. It was so wonderful, and we got to exchange our own very personal vows. The very special chapel lent a little magic to proceedings. Then we had a lovely dinner in a Victorian octagonal library, which was lovely. Afterwards we had dancing, chatting and relaxing. Everyone seemed to have a great time. We are thrilled to be married. Hope to have some pictures soon.
Then we had a rude awakening from romance to rioting!! I live in a neighbouring borough to Hackney, we have had a lot less trouble. I hope things will be calm tonight.
P.S. I really enjoyed that last very insightful post from Cheri.

Congratulations, Lara and all the best wishes for a very happy married life. I was thinking of you - didn't have internet access to wish you all the best. Enjoy and hope London calms down.

After a long journey on a very hot and horrid train we are back in our lovely apartment. DS3 and my sister stayed behind to organise and finish cleaning the apartment in the North which is being sold. We spent four days in the North and manage to do rather a lot.
I hope my parents are at piece again because they are together – on 6 August, the second anniversary of my Mum’s death, we had a little ceremony and placed my Dad’s ashes in my Mum’s grave. It was emotional – DS3 got quite upset because after all my parents came to look after him when he was a tiny baby (I believe the connection stays). It was also upsetting to see that the grave has got overgrown – there is nobody to go regularly and maintain it. So when arranging to have my Dad’s picture and name on the gravestone (we found a picture where my Dad is in his dress uniform with all his medals on – he would love this one) we also arranged to have the whole thing done so that weeds can’t grow. Otherwise we carry them in our hearts.
Looking through the apartment, doing an inventory of everything in it and deciding what to keep, what to leave and what to throw away was hard. But is done! We also left it with an estate agent for sale – true the market if down here as well but it is better to sell it then keep it empty. Renting it out is not worth it. While at it we very likely found a buyer for the village house. Guys, all this sounds very serious but actually it is not that much – it is just something we have to do. Next, we will have to decide what to do with the money – it is not much but enough to either buy a place in the mountains or in a year or so when we have enough to add some more money to it to buy another apartment in Sofia.
This is that, then! We have done the scariest bit of the visit – from now on we will have a bit of fun, a bit of work but the balance will be maintained.
Now we are very tired so good night a hope you are all well my friends (stock market downer and riots aside).
