    'strong bottom' indeed :rotfl::rotfl:

I wrote myself a list on Friday afternoon for this week, and for today - and for today's tasks I wrote out a detailed plan including phone numbers I needed to ring etc so I didn't need to waste time today faffing about, could just get on with the actual phone calls. Worked very well, and now have most of the day to get on with the big task (so why am I on here??)

That's an excellent hint for getting things done. It also means you don't get sidetracked while looking for things you need. :T

I also have a master of masters list (should be mistress of mistresses list :rotfl:) with everything I want to achieve in no particular order - including my bucket list and things for way down the timeline.

It has the next step in the process on there e.g. Go to Bach Choir Christmas Carol concert in 2011 (this is a 'once more' on my bucket list) - Action, find their website and details.

When I've done that, I will tick it off and add an entry to diarise booking dates and research where to stay overnight.

It does mean you have to check the list frequently but it does ensure nothing gets completely forgotten, provided you also check the diary. I do the weekly list and, from that, a daily list each day. I also use a bit of headology by sneaking in some easy, really quick and/or enjoyable tasks at the end to give me a lift.

My name is Tricia and I am a listaholic. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

I have not mentioned this one yet but my best plans for de-cluttering came to nothing during the weekend. The only thing that I managed to de-clutter is my blog – I know that many said that it doesn’t smell of old leather and mothballs but this theme is so much more me. Now every time I go on it I feel at home.

Shoes were not sorted out; clothes were not sorted out – although progress was made in knowledge and I am certainly going to explore the dress agencies around here. This will have to wait till next weekend – I’ll get there, I know it! As the song says ‘I feel it in my bones!’

The big news is that today I managed to get about a ton of work done; more importantly job work was all done by about 14.30 – yet the advance is much bigger than most days for ten hours. There are three elements to this one: 1) the weekly goals and daily goals system is working; 2) I got up at 6.30 rather than at 7.06; and 3) I did divide the time for different things – 2 hours paper writing, two hours other activities (any of the following research projects, teaching preparation etc.), 30 min e-mail and 1 hour job related reading.

After I finished for the day I did some more organising and mental de-cluttering. Somewhere I read that to be able to deal with e-mail faster one should keep their in-box almost empty. So guess what I did in the afternoon? Yep! Emptied my in-box from the large number of e-mail messages, both read and not. As a result all my correspondence is up to date, several e-mails were sent out and my in-box is almost empty. Ha! Could I be becoming a minimalist?

Jokes aside, the less I have in my life – in my house, in my in-box, in my fridge – the lighter I feel and the better I can focus on what really matters to me; on where I would like to go and on how to get there.

Let us see whether I’ll manage to go to bed at 22.00 as intended.

Hello Firewalker, this sounds really positive. All this frog-eating is really rubbing off on me. I feel the shackles lifting. It is a great feeling. Thank you to all involved.

You're sounding on top form today FW! :T :T :T

I did well with my work list today, and have made another one for tomorrow, but other than that I'm feeling podgy, frumpy and abandoned, my house, fridge and body are all full of cr*p, I wimped out of my swimming lesson to eat pancakes!

Time to put the pinny on and sort the house out to hopefully regain a little bit of sanity!

Just saw your new diary - looking good. My body needs a bit of attention as well - today the only thing that got forgotten was my gym session.

But I did enter the brand new, just starting, the first and only Liverpool marathon.

And if you lose the will to live re. de-cluttering, I know a woman who can (and she is deffo not me ;) )
