Hi littlekel, subscribed to your diary a bit ago now but am coming out to share my headlice tips!!
My DD caught them from playgroup of all places and passed them onto my other DD who was only 9m at the time! Mortified I was!!
Anyway, they apparantly dont like the smell of tea tree so im currently using that on my girls hairs at the mo, I did buy the kids version of the shampoo and conditioner but now ive bought supermarkets own brand and that seems ok.
Also my pharmacist told me the old fashion treatment that you leave on overnight works better in her opinion and it was actually cheaper than the newer onto the market stuff.
Keep checking through aswell cos if you miss an egg you've had it! Dont want to scare you but you dont want to be going through it all next week again!!
Hope you dont think ive taken over with my tips!! xMummytogirls x0 -

I use my normal conditioner (about twice as much as you would use on your own hair), and add around 10 drops of tea tree oil, massage it all over the hair. As my DD has longer hair, I then use a wide tooth comb to get the tangles out, followed by the 'nit' comb, over & over until no lice found. It is really easy to see even the smallest lice, as it shows up really well in the conditioner. Make sure you shake the comb into a sink of hot water inbetween combing.
I try & do this every 4 weeks or so, just to make sure that DD hasn't picked up any more 'visitors'

Thanks all for your tips. My aunt makes sure her girls have hair tied up and hairspray every day to avoid the little !!!!!!s!
SIL works in boots and she is going to get me some of the vosene spray with tea tree oil in it.
My worry with hair spray is monday nights the kids don't get a bath or shower as we are at mums until 9pm so they go straight home to bed. If i put hairspray in and don't wash their hair then i assume they will have horrible hair in the morning!
I have to use this solution stuff again in a week to ensure they are gone. DD1's hair is easy to sort but DD2 has so much ridiculously thick hair it is a nightmare!! Her hair is longer than DD1's and 3 times as thick!
Will bear all the tips in mind for cheaper alternatives for next time! I hate this solution we bought - very oily - 4 washes and the kids hair still looks a bit oily!
NSD today! woopwoop
My sister has given my the twilight books to read as she doesnt like that watching the films i am team Jacob and says reading the books i will end up Team Edward!!That should keep me out of trouble!
DD2 has her taster session at big school tomorrow!
WI today and i have lost 2lbs!! woohoo! Need to work hard on it now!!
Finally got through to a survey! Onepoll has been REALLY quiet too
I HAVE to do some more ebaying soon!!! I have a few more bits and could do with the money or the wedding deposit!
Right off to bed i think xOrange Fairy

Morning littlekel, glad youve got the horrible things under control! Im dreading my DD going to school cos my friend told me her DD caught them every month when she started! Im itching now just thinking about it haha!! I always tie their hair up too.
Your right onepoll has been really slow lately, I used to be able to log in and get about 5 surveys, now im lucky if theres one!
Keep at it though!! xMummytogirls x0 -
Agree, Onepoll has been really quiet....although one on there for 10p today
I really need to get back into my surveys, every little bit helps.
Hope you've got the visitors under control now! Always happens with kids, nightmare!
So how you getting on with that wedding list? Will be here before you know it!

I read the Twilight books before watching any of the films and I'm most definitely team Edward after them;) I did like Jacob more after seeing the films (funny that:p) - but in the books I just wanted him to leave Bella alone and let Edward have her!!
Ok, I now sound really sad:rotfl: My DD1 is an absolute Twilight obsessive...I blame her getting me into it! Are you going to see Eclipse? She saw it on Saturday and absolutely loved it....she's going to take me soon:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Kel!
The lice made me shiver, I hate the little blighters but I can spot them a mile off! Trouble is, you deal with your little ones, send them back to school and then they get them from someone else, it's such a never ending cycle
I noticed the absence of the 2nd scratchy on Sunday too although I got 50p today so shouldn't moan too much!
Awesome news on the NSD and weight loss :T
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

Milly - My girls REALLY want to go and see Eclipse. They have watched the other two movies soooooooooo many times!! DD2 is 4 and constantly asks how many days until it is at the cinema!!!
But though it is a 12A so they could go i don't want to look like a bad mum in the cinema! They are 7 and 4! They will for sure watch it at home but not sure about taking them out to see it! IYKWIM!
DD2's fave film is Jurassic Park!
NSD so far today. Though we ned mushrooms for fajitas but OH may get them on his way home before he pick me up!!
Wedding plans are moving slowly. Just finishing of my list of things i need to think of and sort out!! It is longer than i thought!!!!
DD2 looked so grown up at her taster session today. Kept ushering me away so she could go in!!
Afterwards i told her i didn't want her to go to school as who would be my baby. She replied 'It's okay mum - i might be going to school but i can still be your baby':D:D:D:D:D
