You get what you pay for.
The likes of laser, sams y man, currys etc sell the high spec double insulated leads with gold connecters so you don't lose any picture quality.Def worth spending the money on if you have spent a lot on your full hd tv.
These leads can be expensive(around £30 - £50 ) but there is a lot of margin on them so it is always worth asking for discount on them where ever you buy.
Buying a £1.00 lead from poundland is like buying a jag, then hanging fluffy dice from the mirror-yea you can do it-but it wouldn't improve the look of your car.
Tosh!
Gold connectors on HDMI leads make no difference whatsoever (unlike on scart where it does help). An HDMI lead is an HDMI lead, under 10m it will make no difference if it cost £1 or a rip-off £60 from Currys etc...
The v1.1/1.2/1.3 etc are in regards to the device the lead is connected to, not the lead, so don't buy an expensive one. Save your money for a bargain in Laser if you can find one....What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -
Just to go slightly back on topic and avoid any more hdmi cable confrontations, is anyone going to the sale? Trying to figure if there's any point. I'm guessing that most stock will be display stock or maybe damaged items but where would you stand with warranties?0

Stepping back to Sams Yer Man, I was told today that the shutters are down on his Newtownards shop, wonder is it permanent?
By the way, I mean the firm no harm at all, just curious. I don't like to see any business struggling or people losing jobs.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
They weren't down today when i was in.
All cables are not alike, conductivity is science & not a myth
but to keep the peace, you & 99 people out of 100 will not notice the difference from cheaper cables ... bear in mind when i state "cheaper" I refer to the quality not the price ... I personally use high quality cables (both at home & on installations) but then I buy them at very keen prices, such as 7m leads for £100 -
I'm thanking you for the Sam's Yer Man info, I'm not getting into the HD debate!Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0
