Why would you even want to spend money on a fridge freezer with a damaged door?Never heard of pixmania,is it a local company or did you buy it over the net where it is going to be cheaper?:think:0

caz2703 is 100% correct in what they are saying, ive had nothing but bad experience shoping at sams ur man,and as for the staff it was like a scene from sean of the dead!!!atleast the sony guys show an interest and know the product.0

Agree with the post about Ards Sony Center. Staff know their stuff & a 5 year warranty on an expensive TV may be worth it0

Just as a note, I was up near the Laser head office today and the gates were locked to the office although there were cars in the car park. I suppose that would have been the administrators? But nothing on the gates to say what was happening.0

Myself & my family always end up buying from Donaghy Bros in Kilrea, they are a bit of a drive from Belfast but we find the service/delivery unbeatable. I do mostly check their price against Sams yer man /others but on the whole package they outshine the rest. Some stuff we've bought over the phone and they have it with us the next day. They've been in business a very long time - 50yrs I think, and so I'd imagine they don't owe the banks anything as they are conservative & didn't try to grow to quickly and have kept all their quality staff in the one store. Its one thing I would worry about now-is buying from shops that were only set up a few years ago or where they've tried to open other stores - all that costs money & bank debt which means more overheads and the bank run the business at the end of the day & decide when they are pulling out! Give them a try & tell them I sent you - they might give me some more discount when we go up to buy a new Sony TV in the summer!!:j0

It seems Bladerunner has friends everywhere,is there nothing you don`t know?
number 1,laser was an independant retailer as well as sams ur man who you seem to be in love with!!!!
I shopped in various laser stores and always found the staff to be well informed and the prices competative unlike sams ur man where the sevice is always sub-standard and the prices the highest on the high street.
In love with Sams Yer Man?
Ha Ha!
Ive had a few bad dealings with them in the past and I know that Laser wee an Independant!!
The point I was making was that you get a better deal and looked after better in the 'smaller independants'
Laser had what? 10 shops!
In comparison, it is the likes of Sams Yer Man, Hanna & Browne oor those Euronics dealers that give you the better over all deal.0 -

Pixmania is a french company, the parent company of which is now 90% controlled by DSG International who own Dixonx/Currys. Not sure what they are like now, they had a poor reputation in the past and were subject to multi million pound fraud at some of their French warehouses a few years ago. Be aware that many items are sent from France and returns go there. There have been problems with non UK specifications and warranties. Worth checking reviews http://www.ciao.co.uk/Reviews/Pixmania_co_uk__63044870 -
Just an up date on the Laser situation if you haven't already heard.
I was speaking to someone that works there this morning.
They were all told at HQ this morning by the administrators that they were not going to be bought and that they were closing permanantly, apparantly no one wanted to buy them.
Connswater store in belfast was being emptied on Wednesday night past.0 -
I bought a Canon camera from Pixmania a couple of years ago, instructions were French only, really handy. You could download the English instructions from the website but it was 100+ pages, not worth printing outNorn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0
