I try not to express personal opinion on these boards but I always wonder when somone posts this question why, if you are able to support yourself for x amount of time to avoid DWP courses, you cannot support yourself all the time rather than claiming JSA at all?
In many cases yes but not always. Someone may just live on their <3K savings for a while and claim HB/CTB. This is perfectly legal, no fraud here.0 -
I agree with the others the answer is simple one but why shoild you get the benefit. JSA is for people who are looking for work and making attempts to find work.
Tax payers are supporting you you should be prepared to repay what you have been handed.
Tax payers are supporting pretty much everything what is outside businesses that are generating money. This includes DWP and alike, i.e. Tax payers support those on benefits as well as those who process them as neither of the two generate any real money.0 -

If you had any understanding of grammar you might be able to make sense0 -
If you want the state to intervene in your life and pay you an income, you have to jump through the states hoops to get the money.
You could say that the state has denied them the chance of gaining basic necessities and therefore is obliged to compensate them.Of course this shouldn't be an excuse for people to spit babies out left, right and centre or scam the system and expect payouts for anything and everything. You have been left to find a job for nearly a year. Its not working, so you need more help.
If you are going to sign off to avoid new deal, then you don't need state intervention.
Sorry, but it all sounds workshy. Is anyone keeping score on here anymore?

OP, I didn't mean for you to think that I thought you were not looking for work; just that I wonder how people support themselves if they choose not to participate in the course. Is the course in your area so bad that you would rather use an overdraft that you will need to pay interest on and at the moment cannot repay (although this will obviously hopefully change in the near future) than participate in it? Will the provider in your area allow you to find your own work placement, so you get somewhere that would be beneficial to you? How often do you have to go the provider outside of the work placement? Perhaps talking through how you could turn this to your advantage with your advisor at JCP would help?0

What I'm saying is the tax payers support those on benefits as well as DWP, JSP staff etc. Both of them spend money that has been made by someone else, e.g. businesses.
i understood what you were saying. they were just having a dig at your grammar because they didnt like what you were saying.0 -
for the inbred cretins that run these things.
No more help from me and can I suggest to others that they follow suit.
At least those "inbred cretins" have a job, which is more than what you have.
(And shame on you donnajunkie for reccing the post).
Good luck OP , your going to need it.
