Hi I've got a big tub of stewed apples in the freezer which I'd like to use in an apple cake if possible (ie stirred through mixture I would imagine rather than slices). Does anyone have a recipe?
Thanks in advance0 -
You can used apple sauce to replace part of the fat in just about any cake recipe - I'd imagine you could do the same with stewed apples.0

I would imagine a banana bread recipe would work pretty well with stewed apples and a dash of cinnamon in place of the mashed banana.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

I make this sometimes - easy and really yummy
Makes: 1 cake
100g butter
200g caster sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
190g plain flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
175ml milk
2 apples, peeled, cored and each cut into eight wedges
4 tablespoons caster sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1. Sieve flour with baking powder and salt. Set aside.
2. Cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in
egg and vanilla until fluffy. Add flour mix alternately with milk,
beginning and ending with the flour mix. Spread the batter into
a greased 18x28cm or similar sized baking tin.
3. Gently press apple wedges into batter in rows. Sprinkle with 4
tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 180 C / Gas 4 for 50
to 60 minutes or until apples are tender and cake tests done.0
