my friend swears by these vegan vanilla cupcakes - and she's not even vegan! I haven't tried them yet, but they're on the list for when I feel like a vanilla cupcake.
    So yummy!

I use 1 tsp flaxseed to 2 tsp water per "egg", is this your ratio?

Read this over brekkie this morning and has made myself a list of stuff to buy to make both the spiced apple cake and the american cinnamon one. How did I get so low on flour and have no vanilla essence? I guess I'm not baking as much these days..... got to sort that out :D
My friend gave me a big bag of apples this week from her daughter's 2 apple trees. I didn't want to just make an apple crumbe, so thanks to the OP for posting :-)

Just came back to say that I made the cake posted by greenpixey and it was absolutely delicious. OH was unsure when I was creaming the dark sugar and butter, but it turned out really well. Really moist, kind of like a fruit cake or gingerbread texture. I had some with squirty cream and OH had his with some custard.

Both agreed it could easily pass as something that we could have been bought in Starbucks. It was yummy! :D

mmmm, those recipes sound delicious. I've never had the spiced apple cake, but the chocolate tiffin is DIVINE. greenpixy's link isn't loading for me :(

Has anyone got a recipe for a cake with apples in it that I could use up some of the apples I have been give. I have been making crumbles and pies but just fancied something different. Many thanks.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

    Hi there
I just do a basic sponge (4oz butter, flour sugar and 2 eggs) chop up apples in small bits mix in and either make cake or buns, freeze buns to be taken to school/work and are yummy!
  • Not strictly apple cake but

    1 pot yogurt
    2 pots sugar
    3 pots SR flour
    1 pot oil
    3 Eggs
    diced apple

    Its yummy!
Excuse the pots, its the kids receipe!

This recipe is very simple and delicious. Best eaten on the day you make it. It's versatile too. You could serve as a pudding with cream or custard or have with a cup of tea.
