Its more Eco Friendly to boil the water you need for Tea and Coffee in a pan or Kettle on a Gas Ring as opposed to using Electric Kettles. Uses less Energy.0

No it doesn't.
The electric kettle (with a traditional element) is one of the most efficient devices you can buy.
A gas hob has to first heat the pan or kettle, then heat the water. All the time it is heating the surrounding air too!0 -
These things are the BIGGEST con trick under the sun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Buy an ordinary kettle from Argos for £4.99 it is just as eco-friendly.0 -
They look as if they would be top heavy as well so heavy to lift and difficult to pour.
I'll add it to my list of overrated (domestic) eco/green/save the planet devices, solar panels, wind turbines washing balls, toyota prius, sava plugs etc.
Must go have to check the reading on my electrisave :rotfl:That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Real funny ... Eco kettle. Kettle is basically a heating element ... And they have been around for years. They are not going to be anymore ecofriendly because they have different labelling.0

well I have to say I have never heard of an eco kettle !
It doesnt sound from the comments above that they are that green...I just put the amount of water a need in my kettle in the hope that that was helping reduce electricity used and therefore help the environment
Are these eco kettles really that green ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -

Are these eco kettles really that green ?
No. A normal kettle is about as green as it gets. It's very efficient, all the energy used goes into heating the water.0 -

No!
However you must appreciate that 'Green' is the new, and trendiest religion for some, and tis ‘blasphemy’ to speak out against those cynically cashing in on the [STRIKE]gullible[/STRIKE] environmentally concerned. Even on a money-saving site.0 -

Be careful what you say, you might get struck down by the wrath of the god of hemp knickers!0 -
Actually, I have just noticed that Argos does do a "green" kettle at £17.95 - they also do, blue ones, white ones ..............................:rotfl: :rotfl:0
