Yeah, Thinking about that I guess you're right. Its good to sound ideas off people for these kind of responses, thanks!0

Of course it would be more economical than boiling 3 or 4 cups.
The solution - don't boil enough water for 3 or 4 cups if you only want 1 cup! it ain't rocket science.
My cheap kettle shows me the 0.5L level and I fill it to that level if I want a 1 cup. I have worked out if I want 2 cups I fill it to the 1L level - now that is rocket science!0 -

As the title states, which one is the best out there? Best for ease of use, quality of build, and miserly energy use as well as initial cost?
You've got some good replies hereI'll add this to the exisitng thread to keep ideas together.

As everyone else has said, it takes x kWh to boil one cup of water, and that is static. So the only way to save money through using less power is to boil less water. Simples.
The kettle is really only worthwhile if some other numpty in your house insists on filling it up to the max everytime to make one cup.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

I honestly think that you are better off saving your money and just taking care how much you fill your old kettle when you make a cuppa. Don't be duped into spending money when you don't have to, it's more cost effective to replace all the bulbs in your house with eco ones .. if you get them from this site they are only £1 each and the profit goes to Oxfam - gogreenlight dot co dot uk"save money, save time, save earth" :money:0
