Well I wouldn't buy one, far far to much money to spend on a kettle. I expect its priced about right, if it has some kind of seperate chamber affairs inside but not necessary in my opinion.
We both just boil the required amount of water each time.0 -
Does anyone know of a (reasonably priced) energy saving kettle please? thanks0

I've tried to look for an 'A' rated enrgy efficiency one but no luck, just wondered if you guys had any ideas? cheers0

Well, thats what a cup is. Your problem was probably that you were using a mug - obviously 1cups worth isn't going to fil a mug.
I don't see the point of the 'ecokettle' though - just another product on the green bandwagon.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -
My kettle blew up this week (the switch got knocked on by accident, we didn't notice and it was empty, so it burnt itself out!) so I've been looking for a new one.
Found an eco kettle and have just ordered it, but wondered if anyone else had got one of these and what they thought?0 -
I was toying with idea, although I heard the older model had problems. I then looked on net for more comments and also found that the measures on the kettle were for cups, and not mugs which is pretty pointless for most of the population who use mugs.0

Well, someone is going to be laughing all the way to the bank, and it aint gonna be you!
I have an "eco" kettle, it cost £5 from asda. It doesn't have a concealed element and I only put as much in as I want to use. Hence it will use less energy than your new kettle.
How many people are going to be conned into buying products because they say "green" on the label?0 -
I'm sure you'll get used to putting in the amount you use whether it's cups or mugs worth - I don't really understand how the eco kettle is any better than just filling an ordinary kettle with the right amount though?
We have big mugs in our house so I know we need half a litre per mug and only put that much in so we're not wasting power and as we're in a hard water area it means that there's less limescale too as you're not constantly reheating water.
