I keep an old duvet cover under the main cover on all my duvets, keeps them cleaner longer. In the summer(not a joke)I wash them one a week in the bath, stomping all over them.I place a high stool in the bath and drag/drape the duvet over it to drip overnight then In the morning I can get them downstairs and to the line without too much dripping(best done at a bit of a run). They get placed over the top of the rotary line like an umbrella and pegged all the way round.
My sister takes hers to the laundrette at £8 a time and my neighbour laughed at me and said she throws hers away and buys new.0 -
I once tried washing tin foil and I have to say it was a disaster.
I use cheap bubble bath in the soap dispenser in the bathroom. OH complains that bubble bath is not soap but I now decant it in secret and he doesn't notice.
I cut buttons off old clothes
We don't have a water meter but I still use water out of the dryer to water plants.
I rinse out sauce jars with water-the same with soup so I get every bit out.
I inadvertently bought the wrong jar of BBQ sauce the other day and no one likes it so I put a spoonful in my stews and casseroles so it gets used up and doesn't waste.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Frugal Ann. I also always wash my duvets in the bath. I do have a roll away Tidy Dry washing line over it for lighter items but it won!t take the weight of a wet duvet so I have two or three clean broomstick handles which I drape across the width of the bath and then drape the duvet over them to drip. You just have to check the advance weather forecast though and do it when you have some good sunny or windy weather. Normally !!!!!! a year one can strike lucky!0

I inherited a fancy, nearly-new Molton Brown set from a relative of hand wash and hand cream. The hand-cream barely gets used but the hand wash goes down really quickly so I went out and found a cheap bottle of scented handwash (£1 for 750ml in peach) which was the same colour as the original Molton Brown stuff to refill it with - voila! Instand "expensive" handwash set for the bathroom!
I also keep bottle tops from milk cartons and fizzy drinks bottles and when I have a zip-lock bag full, I take them to Lush who recycle them (and often the sales assistants give you a free bath bomb for your trouble!) - these make great Xmas/Birthday present additions!“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. I try to get my weekly shop when i'm near supermarkets getting my mileage from work. I use the 5p bags for bin liners if I end up needed to buy a bag. I keep ribbons/ materials / wire champagne tops for the cat to play with. So much more fun than the expensive cat toys according to my cat.0

If I use kitchen roll (it's rare),I tear it into quarters and use that instead of a whole sheet.0
