Remember to wear a hat too! That's why the Victorians had nightcaps (I mean the kind with a bobble, not the kind with booze!) and smoking caps - houses pre GCH were much colder than we're used to, and you lose a stunning amount of heat through your head because of the huge blood supply your brain needs.0

I do that as well.
I routinely wash these and have done for months and months, without a single one yet becoming unusable. I use them as hankies, wipes for sticky hands (of all ages!), cleaning shoes, impromptu napkins, anything really. It's the only way I can justify spending £2.60 on a pack of un-eco disposable face wipes :eek:If you can't be a good example, be a dire warning

while I'm reading this thread, I'm charging my daughters mp3, and listening to the radio online, saving her having to use her ps2 to charge it and saving the radio or tv being switched on.

I wash clingfilm *blush*
Also....I've been known to use a saw to cut the end of a bottle of Oil of Olay moisturiser to make sure I've got every single bit out.
And that's all I'm admitting to!0 -
Oh and as for button boxes, my mother gave me 2 tins of buttons, and to keep my 4 daughters occupied during the holidays, they're sewing them onto bags to jazz them up a bit, it's developing their sewing skills too, and why pay for new trendy bags.0

With peppers I very carefully pop the stalk out of the top slice and then chop it up [not the stalk!!] and put it in with the rest of the pepper. Pre OS I always used to hurl it in the compost. Yes I don't know why either! However, with the price of individual peppers no waste now!

I slice round the stalk and pull it out, thereby not wasting a molecule of pepper! :rotfl:If you can't be a good example, be a dire warning
