You can buy bedding plants cheaply from our local college as they have a students learning horticulture, you can have lunches as well as evening meals in the catering apartment all that and cheap hairdos! my parents and their cronies go reguarly for all three reasons.

One I saw on the TV last night so can't claim it as my own...mince up old sponges and soak in water. You can then use them in hanging baskets rather than the gel you buy for retaining moisture.

    GREAT tip. Thanks.

Don't know if this is old style, or if it's been mentioned, but I wear a t-shirt turned inside out to go to bed to save wear and tear!

I use the water that the potatoes have cooked in to kill of the weeds that poke up through the gaps between the slabs. Not sure why this works but it does.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

IHere's a question ~I have loads of milk scoops from my sons formula, I can't bear to throw them away - what can I use them for ???

My mother told me that one of my favourite playthings was a scoop inside an empty metal formula milk tin - made a lovely noise. So a few inside a box might be one way of using them up temporarily before finding further uses.

    Love this thread!

Can only think of a few more:
I put dish washing brushes in dishwasher, never need replacing

if you want coasters to match wooden furniture (or even if you fancy 'marble' or funky ones) go to a posh flooring shop and get lovely square samples of the different types of lino

Matalan towels dead cheap and have to be better than Tesco (pah), I think they're like luxury hotel ones

To get best out of conditioner, keep it on longer and keep it warm - put shower cap or plastic bag on top of conditioned hair and put head under shower for 2 mins, saves buying posh hot oil treatments (best done when OH out, does look a little odd)

Possibly saddest of all - on trains, ask for decaff tea - they don't do it - sigh heavily, ask for cup of boiling water instead, they give you it plus milk and sugar, don't charge you, you pop your own tea bag in once back at your seat (decaff or not, who's to know?!)

am a bit worried re heating coffee in the microwave, seem to remember hearing it can cause cancer? Do it to tea all the time though...

    Thanks all!

I always keep my lipstick in the fridge as it seems to make it last longer .Another good thing to keep in the frige is superglue, it stops it sticking and keeps it free running.I hate paying three quid for a tiny tube that goes hard after its been used once.

I'm a bad bad woman.....I cut all 4 of my kids hair......am improving now rofl

Yes, me too, and I also cut my husbands'. Trouble is, I use clippers 'cause I'm not brave enough to use scissors, and I can only do one style, which both the kids (aged 7 and 4) and hubby have. I'm dreading the day when the kids ask for a different style!

Also, used tumble drier sheets make great anti-static dusters.

i have been re-using paper nappy liners and wet wipes by putting in the washing machine, found you can get 3-4 uses before the really fall apart and are un-useable;)

After using face wipes (tesco value are great) I give the bathroom basin and other bathroom surfaces a swish, then I give the loo a wipe too.

They are strong enough to rinse out between wiping each surface if you like....is this just me?

I do that as well. :D
