Can I microwave this chocolate? Faffing about with the hot water etc. is a pain in the bum. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • I'd just go with what you've got. But then again I'm no baking expert :)

I'm guessing no ... choccie is too delicate. You could overheat it.

    Where are the experts?

That is a very good sign :D

Don't forget that you have to let it cool before you frost it.

... you know, it's like I know what I'm talking about

You can but you have to be really really careful as it doesn't take long to do. A few seconds too long and you'll have spoiled it. I stick to the hot water/bowl method for this time;)
  • Reinforcements, thank goodness!

I can't take the responsibility

The cakes look perfect! They need checking at 2.49 pm.
You will need to open the oven, cautiously and verrrry gently press a fingertip into the middle of your sponge. If your fingertip leaves no impression it's probably done, then it's time for the 'drill bit' test. Insert drill bit into centre of cake and remove immediately. If it comes out clean the cake's definitely done.
However, if your finger goes right in and comes out covered in goo, it's not done. Carefully and gently close the oven door and give it another 5 mins before checking again as above. Be careful not to slam the oven door, it can cause your cake to flop.
