To add to my previous point I also had a similar situation from monday's buy which I seem uncertain how to deal with. I bought the following titles:

Forever Love cd (known included at that time)
Jackson 5: Best of\greatest hits (is\was included at the time and still is?)
Grandpa In My Pocket dvd (still listed as included)
Susan Boyle dvd (not the cd but part of the album chart monday, not marked now but was at the time)

The store goes on how the situation was today. The first 3 they cant dispute as either they knew was or still is part of the is offer this afternoon. The main point is the Susan Boyle (£3) dvd. Both me and the gf swear whilst a dvd it was with the music albums on monday when bought and had the 500 bonus points tag. The store now claim otherwise as they have to go on what they see now. Any advice as would'nt mind getting the other 500 points back that I think we are owed?.

To add my 2 Penarth worth, I almost bought the Susan Boyle DVD, this was rather sneakily positioned with the cd section
this was a special track cd/dvd,
however as it wasn't listed on the chart sheet in the middle of the music section within the store I never bothered buying any cd's in the end

although I thought it was out of order placing a cd in a prime spot with the same name artist, which was not part of the offer

In my store (Ayr), the board does clearly state that the bargain chart are not included (but they do still have tickets).

I got planet 51 (present for DS2) and a pop party CD (totally, really not for me, honest) and the points show on my receipt. A lot of the below £5 ones have been covered over with other stock but lots of jackson 5 left (£3).
  • I looked online at what was on the selected list, then went to store, where 2 assistants were discussing fact that bargain chart cd's shouldn't be included in deal, although each CD (and I had 4) was clearly labelled and each SEL showed the name, price and the 'selected chart 500 point' offer. That was in the bargain chart section. Some were NOT labelled as such, and I didn't choose them. :undecided

I chose the ones which were SPECIFICALLY identified by name, price and offer on the SEL. - Take That, Ska, Robbie Williams and Lily Allen.

I know they are not all showing on website now - but they WERE labelled in store.

Assistant told other to clear shelves. Other wasn't sure, and I said I was buying these because of the offer as it was advertised nationwide and online. She said I would get points, other said couldn't argue with any more customers about it today.

At checkout I DID NOT get the points. Had to go so phoned customer services who said bring them in tomorrow see if same ones as on offer.
I said they were. How am I gonna prove that if they've taken the SEL's off? :wall:

Daughter used to do FMC pricing for Tesco and says they can check back on offers.

Miffed, ordered online for Kings Leon, Lily Allen, Peppa Pig and Roary Racing car - all with offer, but spent fair bit.

Points for online purchase are showing at checkout - any idea if will be honoured? All showing in stock but order will come from same store that was pulling the shelves today ...

    Aaaaah ...
Finally Debt Free (£8k to zero) yay! :j :j

It is a real mess ! Got some CDs from the bargain chart yesterday - no points at checkout - went to CS - insisted they will be added later on may statement - stood my ground said got some yesterday and were on receipt - told them to get cds i got yesterday and scan them in "training mode" and yes amazingly the points appeared. They had to eat their words !! But insisted even although they had the yellow backed points labels I wasnt getting the points. Then got dept manager same story - stood my ground insistly misleading labelled - then offered half of the due points !! Still stood my ground asked for store manager - "not available" -mmmm - then she relented "I will give you them this time" WHAT a HASSLE !

Motto: Stand your ground because they WONT be added later !!

I really don't get why tesco are behaving like this over the 500 points offer, I really dont. They clearly want the sales of the dvd's & cd's but simply don't want to give the points much at all now. These things are setup well in advance and given a lot of thought as to how they will run the points offers etc.

If tesco really wanted to "fix" the issue with the cheaper cd's all they have to do is print a new sel out with no yellow backing and add a little excluded from the 500 points offer note on the new sel. They know this is easily done yet they choose not to, why?. And the £1cd offer was easily solved by upping the price, yet they chose not to why?

Because it's bringing in strong sales of all cd's and dvd's and in turn that increases both the market share and increases there buying power for better deals from the suppliers etc. All that will be far more valuable to tesco in the long term than any amount of points they have given away with this offer. Only problem is that the offer has been to popular and someone high up has probably noticed this and management on a store level have possably been told whilst leaving all the 500 point offer advertising remain, try to stop giving the points for anything out of the main dvd\cd charts.

Staff telling customers they will either go on the may statement or in the next couple of days is taking the pi$$. They will have bought the offers themselfs and do most of there own shopping there so to say that is a total lie to get you to go away.

As said stay firm hold your ground and don't give into there lies of they will be added later.

Nothing against tesco will still do most of our shopping there just annoyed how they are now being with people over the offer and it still has a week to run.

I got told a similar things about points going being added to your account at a later date by several people from tesco including people from CC, last year when i bought the champagne that had 800 points per bottle of something similar. Needless to say they never did go on to my statement and i spent almost 2 weeks on the phone to someone at tesco who did an investigation into it.

REMEBER TO KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. that way they can trace the transaction , as you will be able to give them date, time etc and they can pull it up on the system. And a photo of the SEL label will help but i ididnt need it. As i eventually got my 4800 points.

Martin (or his people) contacted Tesco asking to clarify about the cheap CDs being in the offer, so they were notified and must then realise they were going to get hit with load of MSE cashing in on these cheap titles.

So we should blame Martin for spoiling the cheap CD deals

i chuckled earlier on in the thread at some people accusing other people of being greedy by buying lots of cds and 'spoiling it for others'.:rotfl: doews anyone really think that tesco has got our best interests at heart?

the only ones at fault here are, plainly and simply, Tesco: they make michael douglas, in wall street, look like bambi.

serves them right that these 'aggressive' promotions are starting to come back to bite them on the bum.

get whatever you can from them , i say. we're talking about a company that makes more profit than the gdp of most african economies (put together!) and this 'issue' is costing them the equivelant of a few grains of rice!!

I bought the offer CDs on Saturday and like most posters here, did not get the points on my receipts. CS told me it would be added in May but looking at this thread, I very much doubt it so I am gonna return the CDs as fed up with arguing with Tesco. They should honour their mistakes if they have realised that the low cost CDs should not be part of the promotion and remove the yellow stickers ASAP.
