Points were showing on receipt at my store until Wednesday. Thursday bought a couple of cheap cds - 500 pts still on sel - but no points on receipt. Had to get them added manually.
I think the loophole for the cheap ones has definitely closed.

I'm assuming as long as they are in the compilation chart sel or so sel then they have to add the points as the information clearly states all main chart albums. Tesco head office have clarified that to MSE the other day did they not?
  • Hi - this is my first ever post but i have been reading MSE for a couple years now - I have a bit of a problem and maybe someone ( or a few of you with suggestions) can help me out.

Im kinda new to all this clubcard stuff but I love a bargain so i thought id try it out. On wednesday evening I went to my local tesco extra and they didnt have the offer on the bargain chart CDs so i Went to a few others in the local area and a couple of the stores had the promotion on the Bargain chart CDs so in 2 of the stores I bought some of them. In one store i bought 12 cds (mixed bag of the cheap ones) and in another store bought 4 - on both occassions the points were on the reciept.

Then at like 6am i went back to my local store to fill up the car and went instore - JUST as i was walking past the CDs i saw one of the workers putting out the new yellow labels for the bargain chart CDs (this is now thursday AM) because i go there all the time im familiar with them and asked him if there was a limit on how many i could buy - he said no not at all. When i took them to the till the woman serving me (ive spoken to her a few times) was just bagging them up and she noticed the points werent on the reciept, so they told me to come back and there would be no problem, when CS opened just explain it to them. So i thought well maybe this is like a block on me or something so i got my mate and we went to the other store where i bought the 12cds from - we both bought 4 each and low and behold - the points were not on the reciept at the time! We went to the CS desk and funnily enough there was another guy there who said the points werent on his reciept. So we were all told that it takes up to 30 days and when i showed her the reciept which had them on she was bemused! She said we would have to call clubcard and sort it out with them,
Now my mate hadnt bought any before so i was assuming that all was fine and it may be a glitch.

I called clubcard yesterday when i get home and the useless "assistant" tells me A) he is unaware of the offer and B) to go back to the store in 24 hours.

I checked my statement online this morning and SOME of the points had definately been added to them but not all of them - including the ones on the reciept. So i called clubcard up again and spoke to a woman this time - she was aware of the offer and asked me "how many cds had i bought?" i told her i bought a mix of cds and dvds (i bought 1 dvd so i didnt lie) and then she said she would go and find out some more info. She then tells me that they have a "fair usage policy" and that i have "Probably gone over" and thats why the points havent been added. When i asked how many was allowed she said "Im nto sure ill find out and call you back - but it will have to be on tuesday because no ones here" But thats nonsense because i told her i asked the workers instore and they said there was no issue - her answer for that was "the tesco and clubcard companies are different and so they might not know all the information"
So i went back instore and the CS woman told me to wait 30 days and she signed the reciept and was convinced the points would be added to my statement.

This is all confusing because my mate hadnt bought any before and the points werent on his reciept so the !!!! and bull story of "fair usage" is debunked. Also i said i know of "people" who have bought a load of CDs and DVDs and their points have been on their reciepts she ASSURED me that this was the same rule for everyone and the points may have shown on their reciepts but they wont be on the statments.
I smell a load of nonsense and dont buy any of it-i think i should have just waited till the end of tomorrow and double checked my statement. Now im confused - she didnt have a clue about numbers or anything and i think was just reading out a script.
    What should I do?

from experience i personally beleive that if the points are not on your receipt at point of sale and the cs refuse to add them you wont get them.

I'm pleased with my haul. I usually miss out on these kind of glitches due to the remoteness (relatively speaking) of my location compared to city dwellers. Makes a change to do well. :D
