I went to the large store near me and could not see Forever Love so I asked the lady stocking the shelf. She said it went out of the chart on Monday so they sent them back. I went on with my shopping and went back to ask her if she was sure and she said yes I sent back 200 copies. Oh dear. Still another extra points deal will be along soon

It's true, they're all being recalled and boxed back to Tesco. Though some stores still have them (just being lazy, good for us though!)
  • dchuraman - yes as French Knickers previously said, my receipts showed my balancefrom a couple of days ago plus separately the points earned for that transaction. They take a couple of days to go on.

Don't panick they are doing a major upgrade of their software and there have been loads of bugs that can only be fixed and found as it goes live, IE, Gift Cards could not be used online for a while, some have the new Grocery website some are on the old system.
Great when its fully up and running, but a lot of the glitches will be gone forever.

Wonder if this new software has improved visability on multiple accounts and point balances?

Because people go overboard and abuse it. They don't mind people bumping up their points a bit and taking advantage of glitches to a certain extent, but when people are buying hundreds there's no way they're going to let it continue.

Somebody is sitting in a head office somewhere watching these figures and calculating costs. It's very naive to think they don't notice people buying hundreds as they have very sophisticated IT systems, so people do spoil it for others.

I'm pretty sure something like this would have been spotted fairly quickly, and raised with the technical department for them to fix it as soon as possible. But once they noticed people buying large amounts like that - they'd have no choice but to recall stock as they wouldn't be able to wait for a coding change to be tested and released to the Live system.

Cant see this "recall" (cough stick them in the back till mid april cough) being ANYTHING to do with the points or tesco can be in real trouble on that. I checked up on the points issue and I'm fairly sure I'm right. I recall a post saying you aught to be ok if your points balance does not really go over 10000 is a short period right?. So by using there own rewards points offer information I think that to be way short of the mark.

Lets look now shall we, page 43 of the rewards booklet for march. Clearly states for £416.75 of club card vouchers you can get a long distance flight. Going on the basis not to many people would either do such a flight on there own and will most likely will go with someone else, your then looking in theory at possably £833.50 in club card vouchers before tesco can really claim abuse of the bonus points system.

Or if your fussy and say that's the max points you can have or use being the £416.75 (£1664 odd rewards value) then what can they really allow you point wise seeing as it's only March and I think that value may have needed to have been collected since what, december 09 as any points before then have a use by date when they send the previous years vouchers out don't they?.

Go on tesco, I dare you to therefor claim abuse of the points offer when to get that expensive flight offer this is exacally the sort of offer you need to make use of!.

Very happy with this offer. I bought six cds (two for my Mum) all of which I wanted and would have likely bought elsewhere for a similar price without the points, so they are a real bonus.

I'd forgotten the fact you also get the points based on the spend, as the 500 are on top of this, so another few on top of the 1500.

So you've just gone and got £1500 of vouchers. I hope to god you get them all taken off you. I don't care what you say about more in the back, you're just being greedy. How childish. Always some that ruin it for the rest.

All i can see in this post is jealousy, Greedy they may have been but it is no reason to verbally attack them. They have taken a risk and it will hopefully pay off for them. As i dont know what part of the country this stock is located in i cant also go down and take advantage of the offer, after all MSE is a forum to maximize us, the consumer to get the most out of offers and glitches from retailer as they will do their very best to maximize their profits at our expense.
Taking advantage of the glitch is not childish it make finiancial sence. Childish is writing a post showing how envious you are and !!!!!ing about it.
"Always some that ruin it for the rest" true some people go over the top but unfortunately what ruins it for everyone is the fact it is posted on MSE and then it is mailed out to millions of email addresses. Hundreds of thousands of people attempt to to take advantage of the offer, this then spooks the retailer or alerts the retailer to the glitch and so it is pulled or fixed.
