Middle lane hogs!!!!

I actually agree with SallyForth, It is also my opinion that there are 3 lanes, so use them. I would much rather see people utilising all 3 than a pileup in the 'slow lane' because somebody felt they needed to pull back in urgently.
I know that people will have things to say about this, but I have a license and until the day comes that it becomes the law I will continue to use the other lanes at will (admittedly not below the speed limit). After all the highway code is a set of guidelines, not laws.
Anyway, I'm off to Asda now, a trip in which i will happily drive up the middle or even outside lane of the m6 for a few miles if i wish. :rotfl:0 -
james, not everyone would pile up in the inside lane because if there's that much traffic everyone will be travelling at different speeds so some over taking in the middle/outside lanes...... that's how a motorway works!!!Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

the point is you use the left lane until you need to overtake and then you go into the middle lane and if someone is behind you going faster than you and the person you are overtaking they go into the right lane to over take and once all overtaking procedures have occured then you go as far left as possible as long as it is safeAlways ask ACAS0

You don't pull back in and out of lane 1. Of course it's common sense that if you are going to overtake another vehicle fairly soon then there is no point in moving from the centre lane.
There was guidelines given ages ago that if you could not overtake the vehicle ahead within the next 10-15 seconds then you should pull in.The man without a signature.0 -
I went from Manchester to London for a course a few years back and the designated driver thought that the inside lane was for wagons ONLY and would not be told otherwise.
It was the worst journey of my life !0 -
There'd never be a case where a busy motorway has all the traffic in one lane. Everyone drives at different speeds! More or less all the time when I'm on the motorway the inside ones doing 60/70 the middle 75/80 and the outside one 80/90+.0

I was joining the M60 the other day off the M62 going towards Bury before that I had some silly cow sit up my backside in a 50 zone then proceed to over take me and nearly crash into another car. I joined the M60 towards Bury I was in lane 3 out of 4 and she was in lane 2 out of 4 she then decided she wanted to overtake the car infront of her but she obviously didn't look to the side of her and nearly took the side of my car out!! I beeped my horn at her and pulled into lane 4 and carried on my journey. She then come racing up my backside yet again thinking I would move out of the way WRONG, I sat there doing 70mph just to annoy the cow she tried undertaking me on several occasions where i sped up slightly to close the gap between me and the other road user in the other lane. I did this until it was my turn off and then gave her a little wave.
I don't know how the hell she didn't see me I have a Jeep!!! I don't really like people who sit up my backside either I have been tempted to slam on as I have upgraded brakes but wouldn't want the damage to my car.0 -

Oh well done you!
So how does that little stunt make you any better than the other driver?0 -
