Still not quite stayed under my target despite trying meal planning. I am blaming the half price chickens! Freezer is quite full at least.

Thanks to everyone especially Pink, Rosieben and Mrs M.

Rosieben one of the caramel shortbread links doesnt work - not the angelnikki one :o

Please put me down for £450 this month Mrs M

  • Hi everyone,

well did my small shop in Mr T and spent £4.27 on dd whole milk; aduki beans; pinto beans and black eye beans. Am planning some sort of bean and sweet potato/butternut squash stew type thing later this week for a change. Ive never been very adventurous with beans and pulses and thought it was about time i was, for health reasons if nothing else.

I also popped into A*di for a look at their super 6 and also got some vine toms and mushrooms and some chorizo sausage with a spend of £2.96.

For those who are interested their super 6 is vine tomatoes 49p; oranges 49p; mushrooms 49p; carrots 49p; funsize apples 49p and baking potatoes 49p. They also had the boxes of green grapes from last weeks super 6 still priced at 59p. I was looking at the super 6 thread on Food Shopping and Groceries the other day and apparently they had to change from what it was gonna be originally cos of the weather abroad affecting the crops etc, and i think it mentioned the vine toms might not be in abundant supply cos of the weather also. That was the other day though and it may not be the case for definate, i havent checked the thread since.

Will go and update sig now x
  • Hi, Thanks to the GC committee for sorting the thread, it's my favourite!

It's a 5 week month so can you please put me down for £400 Mrs M thanks v much.

Have already done a big shop as cupboards and freezer were bare so have alreay spent £200 . In my defence we don't need much more this month as have bought most of what we need plus a few bulk buys from costco so just need fruit, veg and dairy (kitty says hopefully, lol). My budget includes groceries, cleaning and alcohol, not milk though strangely as we still get it delivered and therefore comes out of my cash fund!

Must go, chicken stroganoff and cous cous for tea with my reduced £2.80 leftover chicken from Sunday (do you know it was nicer than my usual free range £7 one!)

    Good luck all!

Ps Oh do tell Slowand steady we are all intrigued!!

:) he he, not a very exciting purchase really, im almost embarrassed to admit, but i bought a Nintendo DS on ebay, and it came with four games, accessories and was newish so got a 5 month warranty too! Ive wanted one for ages but didnt want to part with my pennies so i saved up a few quid and got this one off ebay. Ive been dying to try the Brain Training games, and when i did some of them my brain age was 75! Great fun, but not very MSE, but you got to have some pleasure in life, and i dont go out, so im happy to have a little spend to brighten up my nights in lol :rotfl:

A wee spend for April but felt I had to share it with you all. Knowing how obsessed we all are with toilet rolls!! Poundstretcher are doing 18 for £2.99 or 2 packs for £5. Which works out at 14p each!!

Watch out for the stampede!! :rotfl:

Just posted on the March GC as I've been MIA for too long. I have been keeping on track and keeping a note of spends and keeping up to date with all the posts.

Thanks to Pink, MRSMC and Rosieben for keeping us going. Will stick to £250 for April but don't know if this is realistic with the Kids being off for 2 week Easter break. Will try my hardest. Will log back on later as need to get some bits at the shops today.;)
