  • hi, so far this month £140. We do still have a freezer and cupboards full, but never seem to have any meals. Im off to look at a recipe thread for some snack ideas for the kids as they are always moaning there is nothing to eat and I limit their crisps etc. I think it will be pizza tonight but lunch who knows!

thinking of you russetred, that must be a really hard situaton for you.

I have caught my 2 year old'd d + v bug. Really hard to carry on cooking for the rest of the family, but they need to eat. Mr Gin is doing what he can, but he is no cook!!!

No spends to report until the big shop tomorrow.

Just wanted to give Russetred a virtual hug and a bit of support.
I'm a teacher and work with some autistic children (none of whom are profoundly affected I should add) and have a teeny idea of what you are going through, although in no way suggest that I'm in the same boat.

It must be very difficult for you and your family at the moment -has the GP/specialist been any help at all?
Good luck - thinking of you - come on for a vent anytime you feel like it - you have friends here. Get it off your chest, take a deep breath and carry on.

    PS
I grew up with a severely disabled sister and, as the only other child, was involved in most of the issues raised - operations, illness, worries etc. Your other kids will get on with it just like I did and love you all the more for being such a good mum. Sometimes you may feel that you're concentrating on the disabled child but your kids know you love them and, even though they may not articulate it, will think you're the best mum in the world. We should sometimes give kids a bit more credit than we do. They'll survive!

  • Hi frankerooney and brodie 1 :D - another home-educator here. As well as everything else we do, my boys are very educated in the art of whoopsies and eating well on a budget! It's an education that'll do them well for the rest of their lives.
Another £7.19 spent on milk, coffee, bread and sausages today.
