was planning a nsd today but had to walk through morrisons to get to the car park and ended up getting pork shoulder for sunday lunch and a few veg bits and some very meaty looking beef bones which look to good for stock! Spent 6.45 so not bad as will get at least 3 meals from the jointPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Another £6.43 spend in Herons - more milk and things to make a packed lunch for train journey tomorrow. Off to London for a long weekend - first time the kids have been so very excited especially since the weather looks good!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.:)

Bought 2, as it's a bit of a hassle to get over there - I could drive, which is a lot easier, but the bus of course is freeeeee...! (Sometimes feel a bit guilty about the no. of bus rides I take on the granny pass, but it does keep cars off the road, which was the original intention.)
It would be cheaper of course if I drank instant, but I just don't enjoy it. Part of my routine is a sit down with a NICE cup of coffee mid-morning, then again after our evening meal. That's my luxury - easily pleased!
While at L*dl I stuck to getting things I can't get as cheap locally, but still turned down a few tempting items, as carrying too much home in 3 shopping bags is a struggle. Should of course have taken my shopping trolley - hardly ever remember!
What do you make your coffee in? I love nice coffee but its trying to find something to make it in for one person!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Hi all
Reporting a £3 spend - popped into Co-op yesterday for some bread and managed to get a few reduced bits - 2 packs cod, cheese and salad stuff - all massively reduced. Going to have cod in cheese sauce tonight and have frozen the other pack for next week.
My aim is to stay away from all shops until Monday as I'll be tempted to buy stuff I don't need - will only need milk & catfood so will ask OH to pick up for me - and he never buys more than I ask as he is allergic to food shops of all kind.....apparently:)
Have a lovely weekend all.

Hello everyone, popping in to update total - another £15.49 going on after visit to Mr T yesterday. I'm under budget for this week (almost by half) which I wasn't expecting at all.
Hopefully I can keep it going to the end of the month.
All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person...

Spent £2.15 today on milk, fruit and cereal bars so not doing to bad. Did go out for lunch with my daughter but that is a seperate budget thankfully. Off to update signature.Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.0

jintyb, As greent said, a cafetiere does the job - I have a one-cup one, but I honestly think the next size up wins on taste. Maybe the grounds have more room to emit the flavour or something? If here on my own, I make two cups and pour one in a flask for later. (Or, drink two!)Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0
