Sorry not finding the time to keep up with posting.I know there are a few carers on here so you will understand. DS(23) is profoundly autistic and has been self harming for a couple of weeks now.I've tried communicating in every way I can think of to find the problem unsucessfully. Its been very wearing on his little bro and sis( big age gap).Needless to say local authority chocolate fireguard. Infuriatingly everyone keeps saying what a good job I'm doing, ie thank god its not me! You guys are the only ones I can say this to, right now I'm close to cracking but I dont have that luxury. I WILL be back posting soon.Good luck to you all."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0

Aww Russetred that sucks, hope things settle down with you soon. There is an ASD support thread over on the Families board if you need support from others with ASD children. {{{hugs}}}It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Hello
Can I please join in? Have been a long time lurker but I need to commit so I don't fall off the wagon mid-month! I know I'm a bit late this month
I have a fair bit in the freezer and cupboards, and there's only me and two cats so I would like to go for £30 for the rest of the month. Hopefully next month I will be a bit more accurate as I see how far off my guess work was!
Thanks0 -
Hello I was a keen GC-er a couple of years ago and got my monthly spend down from £260/month to £180/month just by sticking to this forum and picking up hints and tips. Then I slid down the slippery slope and I dread to think what I spend now; however I will attempt to work it out durying April.
My biggest downfall is cooking to please the DC (age 5 & 2). The 5yo doesn't like anything sloppy, and the 2yo only likes sloppy food, so I've ended up with a very limited menu.
I have both children at home full time (we're home educating) so I won't have time to keep up with posts but I will try to read some because you are all so inspirational.
I'll join in properly in May when hopefully I will have a better idea of what I'm spending.0 -
Popped in to update my sig - really chuffed with my budget so far. My month ends on the 20th and Im @ £60 under which is brilliant. :jIve really been strict this month - meal planning, using my stocks up and sticking to my list! My plan is to use the £60 to do a Costco shop next weekend and stock up for "my May" starting the following week. This will give me a head start and I'll reduce my budget for May.
A few posts ago someone mentioned that the way to save is to avoid shopping. That piece of advice hit home and now I go twice a week only. If we run out, we run out! I also do my list on My supermarket, print it out and take it but I use Li*l to shop and compare prices. Anything they dont have I go elsewhere. Its worked very well this month!
Have a great weekend everyone - lovely sunshine here at last:j
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
