Little spend today of £2.80 on a newspaper & some cobs. (Gosh, the word "cobs" came really naturally to me there instead of the word "rolls". I am a southerner really but have lived in the midlands for the last few years!)Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0

Evening all,
have done my shop for the next week or so, decided to go to Mr A but regretted it really, as have just seen Mr T advertise a few good buys. Plus Mr A had no whoopsies at all that i could find, maybe they have changed their mark down time
Anyhow i spent £27.65
Bought milk, bread, bleach, frozen bits for dh on the 'buy 4 for £3', baby bits, fruit, a cabbage, and tins of beans and sausages also for dh and some salad bits and cheese and a few other bits.
Not a bad amount for what we need for the next week or so. Will inevitably need more milk, its ridiculous how much we get through. Im using up freezer contents mostly now as i want to empty them as some stuff has been in there a while.
I have had my stolen money from my cloned cash card refunded to my account today, but i havent had a new card yet, so as i cant be bothered trekking to the bank to withdraw any cash we will have to do with the GC money we have available untill my card comes so we will have to stick to budget lol.
Well, im off for a nice soak in the bath and hopefully a decent nights sleep
Night all x0 -
wssla00 - hope you feel better soon
long tall sally - same here only I came down to the Midlands. Where I come from a 'cob' is what Lesta refers to as 'mardy' - you can imagine my confusion as an 18yo student - and the strange offers I got asking for floury baps :rotfl::o
We ran out of potatoes - the four small ones in the veg box oddly enough didnt last a family of 4 for a week. So a visit to the farm shop for 12.5 kg potatoes, 2 litres milk, salad stuff (cucumber, lettuce, cress, vine toms), fruit (melon, pineapple, strawberries, bananas), RTC chicken breasts and three lots of their excellent stewing steak set me back £20 which seems reasonable. Paid over the odds for the milk but I am working on the basis I would otherwise have had to go to the co-op and buy things I don't need.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
another £3.80 spent day on hairspray and bread (essentials!)
still going well though.oops, ive spent to much!0 -
Whoops!
Grocery budget to end of today shows I shouldn't have spent more than £25.33 - and I've already spent £29.74...... so £4.41 over budget for this point of the month
But the overspend is really due to picking up 1kg of Cod Fillet when it was half price at the start of the month (split into 10 portions and put in the freezer), and 4 packs of pork steaks this week (current half price offer) each of which had 3 steaks in it (so 10 for the freezer, and 2 for tomorrow).
These two items alone account for £11.87 of my £29.74 spend...... just need to hope there aren't any more really attractive Whoopsies and/or special offers for the rest of the monthCheryl0 -
hi everyone hope u have all been enjoying the sunshine:) my mr t delivery today came to £46.40, hopefully it will be a nsd tomorrow.I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0

A couple of small shops since the start of the month so my total currently stands at £29.24. Pleased with this as I was tempted to go on a whoopsie hunt over easter as I did well post Xmas but decided I still have lots of meat and stuff in the freezer so I resisted.
5 NSD as well so pleased about that too. May do an online shop for Tuesday but will need to check what I need to make sure its worthwhile.0 -
I spent £61.49 for my online shop with Mr T then had to pop in to Mr M for stuff I had forgotten so another £12.43. I have added these on to the small spend on the 2nd of the month and updated my sig accordingly
Off for a weekend with relatives today and one of the days will include a celebration meal for my Aunt's anniversary which is paid for by her & her husband, plus a buffet on the evening so that should save some on the budget this month - I hope that doesn't sound bad
However, my cousin, her husband & 2 children are coming back with us to stay on Monday so I'm not sure if that's going to even things out and push the budget back up, we'll have to wait and see.
I'm not sure if they are just going to stay with me and go about their usual holiday activities, eating out and stuff or if I'm expected to cook for them. I have 4 children so I think I will have to cook double of everything if that's the case as I'm not really sure how to make a meal for five stretch to a meal for 9 so I think my usual meal planner will be out of the window. Also her children are quite fussy about what they will eat unlike mine who survive on pasta bakes, baked potatoes, different stuff on toast, meat dishes made but omitting the meat to cut costs or whatever's on bogof that week lol.Back on the money saving wagon again!0 -
Hi all
Haven't been posting, but have been keeping my sig updated
I don't know what it is that I'm doing, or not doing, but my shopping bill keeps creeping up - I'm nearly at the halfway mark for my budget and it's not even the middle of the month yet! To make matters worse, I haven't gotten much to go into the freezer so my spends are "use now" ones.
I'll have to give the receipts a good going over and try to see what's going on or at this rate I'll be well over buget by May . . . did so well last month too . . .0 -
Nice haul of whoopsies from the co-op last night, 2 packs of steak mince, and a pack of steak n kidney, and a gorgeous loaf of farmhouse white, for the grand total of £2.87. Feeling smug!Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0
