Spent about £13 yesterday in Home Bargains, Iceland & the market. NSD today (apart from an icecream) as just got back from a lovely long walk round Dovedale in Derbyshire. I think I will sleep well tonight thankfully as back to work & school for the kids tomorrow.
Russetred - Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment. I am a teaching assistant at a school for 10-14 year olds & I work mainly with autistic children, although like rachaelmk, none of them are profoundly so. I know from my work there how rewarding & great to work with, these children can be but also what a lot of hard work they also are. Could Autism Outreach offer any advice re the self harming or does their involvement stop after leaving of school age? Sending you big hugs & hope you manage to enjoy some necessary respite.Grocery aim £450pm.Spent £519 August, £584 July, £544 June, £541 May, £549 April, £517 March, £517 Feb,£555 Jan, £573 Dec, £465Nov, £561Oct, £493Sept, £426Aug,£496 Jul, £528Jun, £506May,£498April, £558 March, £500Feb, £500 Jan, £490 Dec, £555 Nov,£566 Oct, £505Sept, £450Aug, £410 July, £437 June, £491 May, £471 April, £440 March, £552Feb, £462Jan0 -

Well i was living in dreamworld thinking that i was going to manage a grocery spend covered by £6 of vouchers!!!
Ended up spending just over £16 after the vouchers were taken off & didn't really buy any rubbish.... when did food get so expensive?
Am creeping very close to my total for the month & we're not even halfway through yet.
Other than milk i think for the next week or 2 everything i eat has to come from my freezer or i'll never make my target. Lets see if i can really do it, insteaed of just talking about it!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
Evening everyone,
i decided to go whoopsie hunting in Mr M today (and get dd yoghurts lol) at 3pm, got a good few bits that will come in. If there is one thing i hate it is paying full price for bread at present, it seems to increase in price whenever i buy it, i make it but dont always have time so i was lucky to have picked up some whoopsies today-
dd yoghurts £1
BM Turkey Burgers x 6 packs £3.18 (buy one get two free)
toothbrush £1
organic brown loaf 19p
granary sliced loaf 25p
chicken thighs pack of six 19p
2 x packs of crumpets 18p
total £5.99
so very pleased with that. It didnt actually cost me anything as my dad had a win on the National yesterday and gave me and my sister a tenner each to treat ourselves to a bottle of wine or something so of course in true OS mentality decide to use it whoopsie shopping!
I have cooked a lovely bean and sausage casserole in the sc teamed with mash, today. I used pinto beans, adzuki beans and black eyed beans for the first time and they were very nice, they didnt smell so nice when i boiled them last night but overall very good, so im pleased. My next door neighbour has also given hubby two bags of carrots she wasnt going to use, so i now have 4 bags of carrots, two of which i already had are getting a bit sad looking, and no idea what im going to do with them all. Suppose i will make a huge pan of soup or something, id make a carrot cake but we dislike it, and no room in the freezer to stick em in there. Looks like carrots with everything for a few days!
Its my birthday tommorow so i think i may treat us to a takeaway, but not paid for out of GC cash, that said dh car is in for MOT tommorow so we will see how much thats going to hurt the bank balance first!
Oh well, I will shut up now, off to have a nosy through the other threads, nighty all x0 -
Not doing well this month... I think I will spend another £10 or so this week, so running about £5 over budget. However, this month I have bought Easter eggs, had overnight guests and included a cheap theatre ticket in my budget, so not as bad as it could be.GC: December: £145?/£120; January: £125.70/£120; February: £163.22/£120; March £113.94/£120; April £DOOM; May £Gave up; June £DOOM; July £160.78/£108; August £7.65/£200

Hi everyone
As we're on Easter holidays, with one more week to go, we're using up leftovers from the freezer. While not working it's much easier to pop into the supermarket or greengrocer for odd ingredients to make meals and I haven't done a big shop for over a week. Might be able to last until Thursday.
Today we popped into MrS and got some whoopsied chicken breasts which I need for a curry later in the week and also some whoopsied chicken breasts for another day.
Used about half the budget so far which isn't bad...Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

Not done much cooking lately as its just too much temptation to eat it all! Keeping to the diet so have got lots of healthy salads for all of us and lots of fish. Found some nice offers in Co-op lately to keep the rest of the family happy-such as 4 muffins for 64p and the tortilla waraps are only 80 p so they have been doing those for themselves. Co-op chickens are on offer again half price-av cost of a chicken is about £2.20. Ive only bought 2 as no room in my freezer. Went to a friends for a lovely piece of salmon and stirfry(she is helping me lowcarb)so that was a freebie. "Treated" the "kids"to pizzas and salad and wedges for tea along with homemade popcorn-well-dd did all of that in my absence. Lost 9 lbs in weight so far so if its cost me a bit more money Im not worried!:j:j:jAnnual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Keep trying to do this & failing, going MIA, etc! MRSMCAWBER, please could you put me down for £400 for April? DH starting his own business & we're now living on child benefit, tax credits & maternity allowance, so GOT to do this properly or there will be far too much month left at the end of the money!
In our house there are 3 adults (me, DH & 18yr old DS), nearly-3-yr old & 6 month baby, plus nearly-4-yr old DGS for all of April (between childminders), no faddy eaters except teenager who likes lots of meat. Judging by other people's posts & budgets, I should be able to do this even with an extra child to feed - I've got loads of eggs to use up, along with many mysterious packages in the freezer - plenty of fun to be had during the Easter hols I think! :rotfl:
Will be checking recipe books, threads on here, so I can keep on track this time. Fingers crossed & hope you're all doing well this month.

Just re-posting this, can't see my name on list. Thanks MrsM!
Not doing as well as I hoped, but doing food stocktake in the morning so will have some interesting meals this week! I know there are lots of bendy veg in 'fridge, so soup tomorrow I think.
