Morning all
OK...back to reality after a weekend of being kept and cooked for...wonderful!
So far this month I have spent £85.10 (19%) including Easter eggs, wine (not for me) and flowers and all this is in my grocery budget for now.
Will need to do a small shop for basics today but am putting off planning the rest of the month for a while. Also I'm going to be doing Slimming World again from today as I MUST get rid of what I put on since Xmas before it gets any worse:mad:
Hope everybody had a lovely Easter.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Just had a midmorning break of a pot of tea (made with S**nsb*ry own label leaf tea) and a doorstep of hm bread with butter and Marmite - yummy! Actually, I say butter, but just for once we have the "I Can't Believe..." etc, as I found it as a bogof recently. I CAN believe it's not though, as it doesn't quite match up to the real stuff - but good enough I guess!
Plan to go out later when DH's carer comes for 3hrs after lunch, and will take a flask, and find some free entertainment - maybe the local art gallery. So, hoping for a NSD.
I was going to go to L*dl to get my favourite coffee, their really cheap ground one, which I actually prefer the taste of, and a bag of their premium cat food, which madam enjoys (not their really cheapo one though - she'd rather starve!)
But, I'll wait until tomorrow, spend nothing today, and get a few more things that we need. I enjoy going, as it's a scenic half hour bus ride away (free to old grannies like me), and I can make a day of it (as DH will be at his Day Centre), hit the charity shops etc (though have pledged NOT to buy clothes!
Lunch today - remains of cauli cheese and roasted veg from last night, and for tonight a pasta dish using store cupboard stuff.
Have just paid out £36 to a cat carer - we will be away next wk, and will leave cat at home (can't get her in the cat carrier to go to the cattery) so found a carer in Yellow Pages. Did this once before, and it cost twice as much. So 6 days at £6 suits us fine. (Oh, does this invalidate my NSD?!)Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
Doing well this week at least - had 5 days out of 6 as NSD.
Yesterday we were out with relatives and had lunch brought for us as we used our car/petrol - next time it will be vice versa.
Todays lunch was Sundays left overs which would have normally ended in the dog or the bin. Have even dug out the bread maker and made a granary loaf (slightly too much water I think but edible anyway) and today have done a milk loaf but havent tried it yet as its on its last 20 mins. Smells and looks ok though. Will test it later.
Am going to look at the sealed pot challenge next if I can find it and plan on putting all change in to it. I already save £2 coins in a tin though so not expecting a huge amount plus all 1 pence and 2 pence pieces go into a charity tin - have done this for last 4 years at least. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.

My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -

£60 for tesco delivery. Bag split and dropped my milk all over the floor, didn't realised it had ruptured the copntainer and I came home to find milk all over the floor. Trying to decide if I can claim that as being their fault?? (The driver was here when the bag split, but we didn't realise the milk had a hole in!)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Afternoon all, another NSD for me
not feeling the best so no reason to go out today.
ragz, just call tesco and say it was damaged when you took it in. They are usually very good with their refund policy.Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Just did my weekly shop. £12.25 at I**land and £36.00 at Mr M's. Sig has been updated. Very pleased with this total as it includes a sack of spuds; lots of marked down chicken to go in the freezer, lots of store cupboard needed bits; the great Muller light offer; enough loo roll for the month and lots of cheap and marked down fruit and veg. I shouldn't have to get anything except for milk for the rest of the week.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
August GC £0/£3000 -
Hi all,
Just a quick update. We were out of milk and I needed petrol so after a trip for a hospital appointment we called in Coop to fill the car and bought the milk BUT we were both hungry and ended up buying a couple of pies and a bag of donuts too. So spent £3.53 which was unnecessary really but as its the first time since starting last month I think I'll forgive us. Sig is updated.
We'll need to do an online order soon for loo rolls etc though will check cupboards, fridge and freezer first as it may be better to just go and pick up the loo rolls. We'll see.
We also need to go to the butchers and greengrocers soon - not a lot of accessible meat in hence OH need for pies!
And very good news, I've had my first ever payout from Quidco and got paid about £83. :T  :j
Keep up the good work all, you are brilliant.

£4.54 spent today. Went to Sainsburys at lunchtime and got some garlic bread, shaving foam, bananas, a newspaper and sweets for work.
I haven't bought my usual TV guide for 3 weeks now and really don't miss it, I only really read it for the soaps but got into the habit of just getting it every week for the last however many years. I'll see how long it lasts...probably until I miss something I wanted to see on TV
My freezer is full (again) so no more buying things, I have a bag of potatoes to do some wedges, but they'll have to wait until next week when i've made some space. This weekend I am cat sitting for my sister, so will have to pick up milk at some point, but that's all.
Waiting for Aldi to change their super 6 to hopefully something fruity next week so I can stock up!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
