  • Evening all,

dh got some milk today from the pound shop but no idea if he used GC money as i wasnt in but will add to total.

Had a trip into the city centre today and had a little spend on a little coat for dd, half price at £4.99 so not bad.

Have just spent a couple of hours doing a bit of cooking, made the usual weekly big pan of veg and lentil soup for lunches and a gorhous garlic and mushroom rissotto, also put a pan of pearl barley on but forgot about it and have ruined half of it cos it dried up :o, but i can rescue most of it and it was going to be chucked in the soup anyway so not a total loss!

Oh well, off to get comfy in my PJ's and have a glass of wine and help dd to eat one of her many remaining Easter eggs :)

    Night all x

    Hi everyone

I finally sat down and wrote out a menu plan for the next 2 weeks using lots of things from the freezer. However due to the fact that we dropped out of the GC for a couple of months there seems to be a lot less real food in the freezer and cupboards and I need to build up the stock again and use up the odds and ends. :o Must make some more cakes to freeze and maybe get the bread maker going again tomorrow. Trouble is I always find the slices are too big... has anyone found and easy way of slicing homemade bread thinner?

Underneath the menu plan is a space to write any shopping needed and as soon as I notice something is about to run out I've been writing it on the list so it can be bought with the main shop and not with a last minute dash to the corner shop when we've run out.:rotfl:

Tonight we had spaghetti bolognese. I made a double amount in the slow cooker and will be using the second portion for a lasagne later in the week. There's even enough for 2 people to have another meal of it some time so not bad.

Anyway good luck to everyone with the challenge.

  • Hi! I majorly bombed out last month. "Must do Better" I think! So, if I can sign up for £216 for April? I'm hoping that should be manageable! Am hoping for 12 NSD's for the month too....currently on....1. Hmmmm, could be going better!

Went for a walk to get out of the house and ended up spending £1 on baby wipes that are on special offer in the Co op Pharmacy. Poor 2 year old stopped being sick two days ago, but her nappies are shocking, so we are getting through wipes like you would not believe. I have even put her in disposables as there is no way I want these in my washing machine, and the amount we are getting through a day I'm not sure I could keep up with the washing anyway. :(

Planning to go to Aldi for baking potatoes tomorrow. The builders are replacing the render on my house and roof on my kitchen, so I can just stick these in the oven and not get in their way too much.
