The BBC report said essential medical supplies/medicines were allowed on as hand luggage, they have to be in a clear plastic bag. I would think that diabetis medicine has got to be claased as essential surely?!? But they did also say that this would remain in place for a few weeks/months so it might be back to a more normal way by then?!?WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Morning all.......(((((((((hugs))))))))))))0 to those who need them......... and thank you for all the birthday greetings.........so kind of you all.
Well I am up and dressed, just on for a quick read before I go downstairs. OH brought me brekkie in bed and we are off out for the day when I have packed up our picnic. Going to Ryton the HDRA gardens near Coventry. Its ages since we went and one of OH's seed catalogues had a 2 for 1 ticket in, so we can both get in for £4.50. We were going to have lunch until I saw how much they charge for food, changed my mind, might manage a cup of tea and a biscuit for afternoon tea!!!!!
Right thats me for this morning, see y'all later.
Have a nice day...................

Ah, we're having the Yorkshire/Lancashire debate today then are we? As a Yorkshire Lass living in Lancashire, I'd better keep my head down!
Happy Birthday Tootles! Hope you have a lovely day
All this terrorist alert stuff is very worrying - we flew to Antigua about 2 weeks after 9/11 & it took hours to get through the airport. According to the radio you are only being allowed to take essential medication, baby food & your travel documents on board as hand luggage. I hope it doesn't affect taurusgb too much, as she was asking yesterday about what to take on a flight to Canada.
Not much planned for the day (apart from w**k of course!). Might take a trip down to Aldi at lunchtime for some flowers & and a mooch, but that's it.
Sausage casserole for tea.
:grouphug: to you all, I'm off for a :coffee:0 -
Good Morning Everyone
Happy Birthday Tootles.
Everybody else hope your days going well.
Woke up feeling much better and then switched on the tv, feel sick now have a friend who does the transatlantic route for BA.
Anyway I'm sure she will get in touch when she can, havent txt her as I'm sure her mobiles in melt down.
My plan for the day is
1. House tidy round
2. Aldi and Tesco trip
3. Make Shepherds pie for tea
4. Do ironing
Have a good day everyone. Keep you and yours safeSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Morning all
... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTLES! ... There was a Prom broadcast last night on BBC1 from a few weeks ago ... Didn't see the whole thing but am told I got a lengthy close-up in the front row of the audience ... I do recall having a camera thrust in my face, so that sounds about right!
... Have managed to dye a load of washing pink
... Luckily most of the load was pink to begin with, but will have to get some colour run remover to rescue a blue top and skirt and several pairs of white knicks ... Just had to fax some bumf over to the mortgage broker to prove that my stoozing isn't real debt
(I was gradually winding down the stoozing for this very reason, and only had about £3k still outstanding, but obviously I'd planned on my original timescale of not trying to get a mortgage until the winter!) ... He seems to think that once that's cleared up, the mortgage offer will be sorted by next week ... Am expecting a call this evening from the insurance underwriter for a policy which will pay out £1k a month if I'm ever signed off long-term sick ... Will need to answer some health questions ... shouldn't be a problem ... Got to go ... See you later ... Love Rzl xx

Hippo Birdy Tootles:bdaycake: (cake is obviously home made:D)
OK, I have a confession to make:o For the last 6 months I have been steadily falling off of the OS wagon, and now I'm just about hanging on by my fingernails & being dragged behind, prior to sustasing heavy financial injuy when I do eventually fall off:o:p:o:p
It all came to a head last night when I went to tescos to get some (not all) of the stuff I need for my mum's birthday dinner tomorrow night & Spud's birthday picnic on sunday. Even though I had made a list, I was kicking myself as soon as I got to the checkout. I know I could have planned things better & spent LOTS less, and this is typical of the way I am running our home right now. I am back to buying bread instead of using the breadmaker & I have long given up making yogurt as I just can't keep up with the rate it's eaten ('cos if you don't make the next batch with the tail end of the existing batch you have to buy new started yogurt every time which defeats the object...preaching to teh converted here aren't I?) Plus on top of spending too much on shopping, I am not keeping on top of budgeting & moving money aro23un2d03+ (Spud's helping me type:D I'll leave it but it was supposed to say "around").....I am not paying bills on time & 2 months ago even forgot to pay a bill resulting in a £20 fee:eek::eek::eek::eek: Plus on top of that we have just booked ot have a new patio built costing ...ahem...well, it's got 3 zeros on the end and a big enough number at the beginning. Although we can afford it I am concerned that we shouldn't be spending this much right now with only one income. I can't cancel it now, it's too late.
I am reading the tightwad gazette & taking notes & trying to re-inspire myself. I think much of the problem stems from being knackered all the time. Hubby thinks I have a vitamin deficiency or something as I used ot be much more alert on much less sleep (seasoned insominiac but the sleeping has got better recently & the energy levels worse?).
To cap it all we have in-law problems (again:rolleyes:) which I really need to deal with. I am planning the disarmingley nice approach in the hope of defusing the situation but I just haven't got it in me to face it today. And now I have to go bloody shopping again for things that my poxy tescos didn't have in stock last night:mad:.
I don't know if I need a stiff talking too, tea & sympathy or an almighty shock. I think I just needed to get it all out. Sorry:oPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTLES
Sounds like you have a fun day planned, I hope you enjoy it.
:bdaycake:0 -
P.S. ... Nelski I'm really jealous, wish I was coming out with you and TM and the Mouselings ... And as regards the terrorist threat ... Am I the only person who doesn't worry about it at all?
