Many happy Returns Tootles - hope you (and all other birthday folks!) have a lovely day.
Got home last night and OH had got home from work before me. He was merrillly watering the garden and suggested that we went to the pub for our meal. I didn't argue - it's a lovely village pub and bout 150 yards from where we live!! He's worth his weight in gold that man!
As he is working at home for the next couple of days, will have a meal ready for me when I get in from work, so that leaves me more time (in theory) to shine sinks etc. Lets see......... Must do a list!! He is also likely to have all the washing done as well - he likes to score lots of Brownie points - so will have to hatch a plan to nip in and do the ironing while he is out training a biker buddy.......
Good news that a plot has been 'disrupted', although it has to be a pain for anyone travelling, much better to arrive safely? Thoughts are with everyone travelling and trying to maintain a sense of humour, especially those travelling with children.
Looking forward to trying all the 'glut' recipes that have been posted, so will add one of those to list of things to do now I don't have to cook for the next couple of days!!
Have a lovely day everyone,
JanEverything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -
Catznine - i thought exactly the same thing, security was bad enough when we went to the US in June, so goodness knows how bad it will be from now!!!!! Glad we went then, the delays and problems sound terrible now!! Hope all those going on holiday in the next few weeks get through it all ok!!!0

I agree about the avatars, its like a virtual 'face' that you get to know people by. Some scarier virtual faces than others (Nelski!)Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOTLES!!!
Morning All,
Crikey, this terrorist plot sounds awful, just listened to the news from BBC Online and it seems that people flying today and for the next few months are not allowed ANYTHING on board as hand luggage. Everything, right up to your case for your glasses must be checked in for stowing. Anything you do take on board, which can only be a wallet or essentail medicine, has to be in a clear plastic bag. I can see how this would be OK on a short haul flight but what about people going further? My mum is coming from NZ at xmas (only the 3rd time I'll see her in the last 9 years!) and she is going to need more than a purse on board for a 26 hour flight!
Today I have NOTHING ON!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! Thank god, I can sit a veg out, prehaps read a recipe book or two, courtesy of Weight Watchers, and see if anything inspires me. Might also get a chance to start reading a book, first in ages. Kids can run about doing whatever the heck they like. Yesterday I had 8 children under the age of 4 running riot in my house whic made for a stressful afternoon.
Hope you are all going to have a lovely relaxing day.
Al.
PS-BIG thanks to whoever it was asking yesterday about formatting a recipe book, a FANTASTIC idea. I can wait to get started on my own.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -

Hello,
Have just got up and wandered downstairs to find its pouring with rain. I hope it brightens up later. Am going out for a nice drive in the countryside and a carvery lunch with my mum today. Tomorrow OH has the day off so we are going to Weston for the day, we always do this in the summer holidays as Weston is our nearest bit of coast. Couple of hours to get there, then a real "old fashioned" day on the sea front with the kids, donkey rides, the little train that goes down the pier, one armed bandits, chips on the sea front, and if we are really lucky we might get to see the sea!:j (we havent nicknamed it Weston Super Mud for nothing) Apologies to anyone reading this who lives there, we love it really.
Happy Birthday Tootles, hope you have a good one.:bdaycake:
I'm off to grab a cup of tea and a plate of toast whilst DD's are still in bed and its quiet.
Will look in later.0 -
