I know the area a little, my big brother lives near Leighton Buzzard. Its beautiful there, after we visited my big brother last September we thought the area was gorgeous but may be a bit far out for us as we would like to remain working in Sunny Slough! My dad and step ma live on a long boat somewhere past Berkhamsted so not far from you either!
However as it's a long time until we even start thinking about buying another place (I like to plan ahead), things may change and I shall definitely ask if we need some info!! Like wise if you're in need in this direction.:D

MimiF - my dad's near you, in Dedworth (the scruffy end of Windsor
) ... and I lived in Maidenhead for a while when I was little
... All I ever see of Slough is the railway station, where my dad usually drops me off if I've been to see him

Rzl, I used to have a boyfriend lived in Dedworth, many years ago now, he was a bit of a twonk.
Slough Station is actually quite historical, albeit a bit scruffy. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few years though, part of (actually nearly all of) my job is working on the Slough Centre regeneration project and that part of the town wil be changing drastically over the next few years!! I know Maidenhead very well too.
What no Betjeman jokes, I'm almost disappointed!!!

kiwi - i feel really lazy now, after hearing all you have done!!!!
Ive managed to clean the toilet and bathroom, and thats about it so far, still loads to do, but hey ho, it may or may not be done today!!!!
Churchmouse - glad the 'maggots' are behind you now, hope you feel better about it later!!
Kaz - not sure why the tarts are coming out like toffee, maybe you need to add more filing, or you are cooking them to long? Good luck with the quiche too, i keep meaning to have a go at making one, but my 2 dont eat them, so i tend not to make things if im the only one eating it!!!!
Right, im going to try and motivate myself into doing something (anything would be good!!!)
Take care everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Thanks for that thriftlady, I now feel slightly less ashamed, but no less "crawly" iykwim.:rotfl:
Am now definitely leaving for the dump. Did bag it all once more and put it all in a cardboard box, from a delivery 10 minutes ago. The little b*ggers aren't escaping into my car!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Well got through lunchtime without spending too much and I even had a lovely healthy sandwich from the Bakers!
But thinking about the need to clean, I saw in Woolies a spray bottle for only 78p and thought that it could be used to clean windows with my own cleaning solution, so I bought it! However! I don't know a decent window cleaning mix using water, vinegar etc. Your kind assistance would be appreciated and also a solution for any other place to clean would be good!!

MimiF - no, no Betjeman jokes, as I currently live in a neighbourhood which although quite a pleasant community, is very neglected and run-down in the centre ... My housemate, who's lived there all his life, frequently declares that it needs "a bomb dropping on it" ... So it would be a bit like the pot calling the kettle black

Urgh Churchmouse!!!! Don't envy you tackling those - but just think of the great dent you've made in the fly population!
I was once at a very houseproud friends house helping to prep for a bbq - went in the fridge to get something and there were maggots crawling over some ham in there. That's when you need to worry!!!!
Catowen - I think I probably did cook too long previously. Boys loved them tho - mind you're probably getting the picture with them. Providing it's edible it's lovely!January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)
