Yay I have a functioning fridge-freezer again :j:j:j The repairman changed the thermostat and all is now well
Just typing up my claim for the food that went off  Will have to restock everything nearly  I wonder if I can stretch things until next pay day?I can see the credit card having to be used at this rate as there is nothing left in the freezer and there is only a small tub of marg, eggs, jam and milk which I bought yesterday left in the fridge apart from some marmalade, parmesan cheese and of course OH's beer  Plus no spare money anywhere to pay for anything due to OH's £200 overdraft
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hurrah I got a mention in a list - thank you Bargain RZL:beer: . TBH I didn't really expect a mention as I'm so new but one person who hasn't as far as I can see made any lists is jocketuk and it's only a few days since she was on.
Tired today after minuting a meeting last night and one the night before - I don't know where you get your energy purple princess to work as much as you do.
Just realised that we haven't bought so much as a bag of chips for the past two weeks - things are looking up on the meal planning front, I'va also used the SC twice, OSing really starts to get you doesn't it. DH has even started to help me clear the kitchen every night, put the dishwasher on and shine the sink flylady stylee. She's right it does make you feel better to see it, even if you've not had the energy to do anything else, since the first FL challenge I've shined my sink every night:o .
Whoops, need to go and do some work now.

PenPen - Blueberries, either frozen or fresh ... I tend to use frozen as they're lurking in the freezer
CM - yuk, yuk, yuk ... yes, one more bag for luck
Slough - I used to live up the road from Slough in Farnham Common, I was shocked to see the size of the Tescos when I drove through the centre the other week, or should that be "crawled" due to the congestion caused by it. Bet there's the opportunity for a few reduced items from there!
Hip hip hurrah, my material's arrived, so off to brew a coffee and get crackingGC - March 2024 -0 -

Well hi everyone.
Typed up a long post yesterday and the darn thing logged me out and lost it!
DD's were being a nuisance so couldnt face the hassle of doing it all again!
DD's are at their grandparents for the day today so I am not being nagged to get off the computer so they can have a go!
Have done lots of banking and odds and ends buying (birthday cards, hair mousse etc) this morning. (Much easier to do by myself) Called in and had a cup of tea with my mum, came home and had a (shop bought) sarnie. I am now supposed to be lugging the sewing machine downstairs so I can edge my new net curtains, instead I am reading the thread and watching repeats of Big Brother on E4. Looks like I will have to go back to yesterdays thread to see what I missed, looks like lots went on after I gave up on my post.
The most exciting thing that happened to us yesterday was that I took DD's to the park and DD1 climbed up a tree and got stuck. Didnt fancy climbing up after her so the best I could do was tell her to jump and cushion her fall! Luckily neither of us were hurt. Have had to ban her from trees, and put up with DD2's sulks as she wanted to roller skate, not advisable with a broken toe.
Right, I'd better go and find the sewing machine.
BTW, we are venturing down to Lewes, in East Sussex for our hols in a few weeks. I think we have a few O/S'ers in that direction. Have never been there before, can anyone recommend anywhere nice to visit? We have got a National Trust membership if there are any good N/T places down there. (Suitable for 7 and 10 year olds?)0 -
Ooooh Penelope what school? Mine are at The Priory (school not clinic!!! :rotfl: ) Don't blame you for escaping....
Zed42, welcome to the club!! My brother has just moved to Farnham Common, it's lovely, rather posh though.
As for the Tesco's, I cannot abide it. Personally, I don't mind the look of the building, those surrounding it are dreadful. But the store inside doesn't seem any bigger than what we had before and the layout is just plain strange and everyone walks in different directions so you are always swerving to avoid them. The best bit about is the 3 hours free parking they offer and Krisp Kremes!
I tend to stick to the outskirts just to avoid all that congestion.

Oooer, have queasy sick remembering primary school feeling..........._pale_ _pale_ _pale_ Priory was my primary school, green and gold tie and blazer with badge of oak tree and 3 diamonds, then (I still have them).
Don't remember there being a clinic in my time.

Oh bless, DS loves it there, DD is starting full time in September. I didn't realise Ulrika Jonsson went to Burnham Grammar...she still lives in the area, we used to see her and Hunter (Gladiators) in Sainsburys in Taplow all the time.
No more blazers though unfortunately, does anyone else hate all these horrid sweatshirts all the schools have now?
Small world isn't it?
