Mr livinginhope - hope she's better soon - send her lots of OS hugs from us all.
It's been an expensive morning in the house of Pooky and all without leaving the house.
Just ordered a new mattress - we've held off after our MFI fiasco a few months ago but it was time to bite the bullet... Ordered new pillows and a new clothes airer too as my other one fell to bits last night. Then feeling quite smug that I'd used cashback sites and discount codes for £25 off the lot, I went to open the washing machine and flooded the kitchen floor... It's been on it's last legs for months and last time Dad tried to fix it he said it's not worth spending any more time or money on.....so another trip via a cashback site to buy a new one.
I'm now going to sit in the middle of the room - touch nothing and then it can't break.
Hope the rest of you are having a supppper day to make it for mine! :rotfl:"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Moggins, hugs to you. I didn't read you as having put your foot in it. OS, and especiallythis thread, is where I find a bit of peace. I'd hate it to become bit€hy and off topic (not possible on this thread :rotfl: ) like some I see. Was reading one over the weekend that started as a plea to not come down heavy on spelling mistakes, and ended up as a horrible rant about racism?!?!?! As for thanks, I've given lots of advice on bankruptcy and DFW threads (my professional speciality btw) and often not been thanked once, despite answering several supplementary questions. Here you get thanked just for a name check.
Dorry, hello! Hope you feel better soon.
Good morning Mr LIH! Big hugs to Mrs LIH, and hope she gets better soon. Been meaning to ask, are you in the Derbyshire town? I always joke about Living in Hope when I'm there.
Chipps and Snoozer, sorry to hear that cleaning the kids' rooms gets no easier once they're no longer there.
Aussie, hi. I'd got the jist about your start of a house, but I'm still nosy, even if it's still a pile of bricks!!
Pookie, morning, we cross posted. I have days (and a lifetime) like that!

Dorry,
I think it's an optical illusion cos it's really quite small. It is 2 storey with a loft upstairs. It has 2 bedrooms upstairs & dining, kitchen, lounge & bathroom/laundry downstairs. That's our neighbours fence. I'd say he scrounged around and got off cuts of people's roof. That sort of tin is what we use for our roof's in Qld. Our colour roof is going to the green one second from the left. Very handy of him to have all the colours.Tiles get damaged from the hail we get with the wild summer storms.
No Perth is a very very long way from here. I've never been there. DH lived there for a couple of years when he was a toddler. He can't remember it though. I have a brother who lives in Melbourne though.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

kiwi/ageandjo/tra - made me laugh, thanks for a good start to the day!:rotfl::rotfl:
I didnt post over the weekend, so dont know whats been going on, especially with the "leftout bit"(will catch up later with that) -
Welcome to newbies and hugs to all those in need (mrs livinginhope).
Had a good weekend, DH made the new bunk beds up, look great, kids very excited with them first night, but settled down last nite, even DD stayed asleep all night:eek: (she's had a habit of waking up middle of nite). Thought they might have argued about who has top bunk, but luckily DD has staked claim to bottom and DS to top!
DS had a friend over on saturday, they went in paddling pool, played with toys, bikes etc, then took them to macdonalds for tea (complete with CARS toys in happy meals) they seemed to enjoy the day!
Sunday went to buy another mattress for bunkbeds, also bought DD some clothes in primark (winter stuff, I know its horrible buying this stuff in middle of summer isnt it?) I only went in primark cos it was early morning and it wasnt TOO busy! then came home, dont like spending all my sundays in shops!
Ive got some blueberries to make some muffins with, how much do you put in? does anyone know? as I was going to follow the banana recipe but instead put blueberries in.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning All!!
Actually it's nearly afternoon. We flew back in Saturday and am back in work today, it's very quiet actually and I'm rather bored. Definitely pays to go on leave same time as your boss!! Holiday was absolutely lovely, very hot and awesome scenery. Did nothing but swim, eat, drink, sunbathe and sleep. Lovely.
Wil have a look through the threads to see what I've missed so far, but welcome to all newbies!! Wishing you better , Livinginhope and AussieLass, I never get bored of pics, am a complete curtain twitcher and very very nosey!!
Breakfast was muesli & chopped banana.
Lunch - chicken salad & new pots left over from yesterday.
Dinner - Smoked mackerel I think, can't remember what i put in my meal plan.
Have a lovely day.

You mentioned making strawberry teabread in the BM - my DD is crazy about iced pink teabread - do you know how I would make it? I have a BM.
Have been laughing over the embarassing moments.
Soup is in slow cooker, dishes are in machine and I need to post some books I have sold through Amazon.
May make home made chicken pieces with lemon and spices and some spicy potato wedges later if I can summon up the energy.
Saw my dad last night and he is on stronger pain relief so do not know how much longer we have. it is his 82nd birthday tomorrow so we will bake a cake and try to make a fuss of him."This site is addictive!"
