Just a quickie for me this morning as I"m running late again. :D I slept in. After running around like a silly chook last night I rewarded myself with a flick through my book. I should have come on here and heeded Churchmouse's warning and got very involved. Hence me sleeping in and again running around like a chook. DH is in the shower, he probably thinks I"m busy getting ready. :rotfl:

Snowy I got the book from www.abebooks. They were great and much cheaper than Amazon. TWG should be here soon. DD has discovered them too and she has ordered 4 books as well. Serves you right for picking your nose at work. :D

Moggins Your hand should be on the mend by now. Keep an eye on it.

Elona The house viewing will cheer you up. Hope you find something. I wonder how VickyA is progressing with hers.

Kaz How has your list been going? Have you found many savings.

Better go, I hear the shower has stopped. :p TM your DH made me laugh. Most of them must be the same. Have a good sleep. Byeeeeeeeeeeee

Morning everyone....unless you're AussieLass of course, then Good Evening!!

After yesterday's mysterious late starting of the Old Style thread I thought I would take full advantage of my insomnia and start today's up nice and early. I wonder, will today be the day that Shez makes it to page one:think:!?

AussieLass, I found abebooks a while ago, and used them to buy lots of my textbooks for the course I did last year. I thought they were good too. TBH I didn't think of them to order the Tightwad Gazette, I was just so excited when I saw it for sale on Amazon with free delivery that I ordered it on impulse.

Tonight's Old Style will be reading the Tightwad Gazette, which is due to be delivered to me today. I can't wait:j:j!! I suppose I should try and wipe down a surface or two as well, or maybe bung a few odds and ends in the slow cooker. I've got to visit the superdupermarket too, but will be in and out in about 10 minutes.

I don't think I am going to pass out with excitement....my entertainment for the evening is to read a book and go to the supermarket...hmmm...

I hope your day is much more exciting and action packed than mine!

Morning Snowyowl - not quite evening over here (Australia!!) - 2:32PM for me and stuck at work in a boring temp job - but getting paid $25 per hour for twiddling my thumbs, so not bad!!

Thought I would check in with you guys here, theyve blocked every other website, but not MSE, yippeeeeeeeeee!!

How is everyone? It has been raining here for most of the day (4th time since I've arrived, so not too bad!), but I could have been sitting in the UK! Hows the weather?

I hope you all have a lovely day. My grandad died a year ago today so must call mum so she knows I'm thinking of her.

Have a good day & dont work too hard (I know what you're all like!!).

    xx
  • Morning Snowy and afternoon Ms L!

Just a quick post, as I'm off to w***, but I'll be keeping up with what you're doing, even if I'm not saying much!

Shez, I'll post the lemon curd recipe later - that's what I'm going to have on my fresh bread, that I can smell in the BM. Ready in 10 mins.

Kaz, I have some more info for you - I'll PM you later.

    Off to get kettle on.

See you all later, Penny. x

    Good Morning
Can't sleep either, plus the big job of the day is to coax DS out of bed before 9am to get his haircut, so I thought I'd better start early !
SnowyOwl can think of nothing more relaxing a book in the evening, oh to be able to sit and read undisturbed...sigh...
Ms_London, there is a definete nip in the air in Dorset this morning, beautiful blue sky though. Thoughts with you over your anniversary though.

Yesterday I became the owner of two bottles of stardrops :j and one microfibre cloth ! Became inspired by the apprentice_tycoons Amazon thread too.

Final tweaking/sewing in labels of school uniform today, can get away without shoes as I polished last terms to such a shine - and found it extremely therapeutic !

And then I'm going to play with my Stardrops you see SnowyOwl, excitement here is neverending lol !

Hope you all have a good day

    Morning all

A bad nights sleep for me which is very unlike me

Off to w**k in a while, just trying to decide if I want to go for a swim first ?

The rain yesterday put paid to my gardening plans, although did manage to weed the front garden and attack the lavender bush. Made a plum and apple crumble, 2 lots of washing and changed the bedding.

Plan tonight is a spag bol - may use the slow cooker though and to carry on with my scarf

    :grouphug: to all

    Morning everyone

baking session has produced scones (including celery cheesy ones ofr those without a sweet tooth) and cooked up two big shepherds pies and an oxtail stew - must be those autumn nips in the morning that's provoking me into winter food........... Can't wait for your lemon curd recipe PP!! My favourite spread...... I have an abundance of mint at the moment - anyone have a recipe for mint jelly? or something??!!

Will have to take a look at this tightwad gazette, so thanks for the info Aussielass and Snowy Owl.

Well PP, like you now at w**k, so must press on.
