  • Evening all

It was my first day back at work today after 2 lovely long weeks off  Talk about busy, why is it that no-one does any of your work whilst you're away

Anyway I've just put dinner in the slowcooker (on high) Acupulco chicken - yum yum.

My Good Food magazine arrived today - so looking forward to reading through that later with a nice glass of vino :D

Haven't really read the thread today so (((((hugs))))) to everyone that needs/wants one :A

    Byee
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Ooooo, this is a first for me - MSE browsing from the kitchen! OH & I decided that we needed, yes needed wireless internet access yesterday, so went & blew £80 on a wireless modem thingy in PC World. (Spend justified because we didn't go to London at the weekend for the cup final, thus saved at least £250!! - can you tell that is man logic?) Even better news is I set it up ALL BY MYSELF! I didn't have to ring any techies or anything. When I left the house this morning OH was browsing the net in bed.
Just had breadcrumbed chicken, HM potato wedges & baked beans for tea - yummy! OH is at work til 11pm. I'm planning an evening trip to Asda in a bit, need to stock up on some bits n pieces - non essentials but it will stop me surfing all night!
Hugs too all - I'm too late to mention everyone, but special thoughts to Smashing Blouse.
Ticklemouse - send him round here, my garage is a cobweb-fest!

Lillibet - Thank you for the blackberry vodka instructions, Can't get down the end of my garden at the moment (patio men are here) but have loads in the freezer could I use those do you think? Or would they water it down too much?

Personally think I'd stick with fresh but have never tried it with frozen so don't really know. If you're planning on using it for a pressie then use fresh, if it's for you then give it a try maybe. I've only ever made flavoured vodka before (Raspberry is FANTASTIC!) but this year I am also doing cherry brandy, sloe gin & am thinking about having a go at apricot brandy:D

    Sorry I can't be more helpful:o

    Hello everyone,

haven't been about for a few days, due to work/being tired etc. Had a lovely weekend with my fmil (thanks twink!) where I got totally spoiled :D It's my turn to make the tea next time!

I've been skimming the threads - got a lot to catch up with. Hope everyone is getting along as best they can. Hugs to all who want them.

Edit: you'd all be so proud of me: instead of turning up the heating when I got cold, i've just changed into my nice comfy trousers and fleece top :p

    Evening everyone.

gosh its a long one again today. I was at my sisters for 8:45, until 6:30pm. Her two boys were both well behaved, and helped me do jobs like get the 2 lines of washing in when it rained, and set the table/clean up after lunch. I was quite pleased as i managed to get them to eat a fair old bit of fruit at lunch, and only one glass of fizzy pop with lunch.

I'm shattered now though. Still haven't cooked the evening meal, as DH isn't in yet. I may ring in a while and see what sort of time he'll be in and then do some sort of pasta with tuna concoction.

I have arranged to go to my parents house and do a fly-lady challenge with my sister tomorrow afternoon as it is half day in the shop. I don't know what we'll manage, but it will be a nice surprise for my parents when they get back off hols. Plus, its better if someone is there, as they had an attempted break in we think the other night. Luckily they have an ADT alarm monitoring service as they had an armed robbery there 5 years ago. So they rang my sister and BIL, who had to go up, check it out and reset the alarm. And that is with 3 dogs. (2 big alsations and a westie).

    I'm waffling now a bit.

Smashing blouse - hope you aren't too groggy and the op went well.

elona - good luck with house viewing.

moggins - please get that hand checked out as loss of mobility doesn't sound good, and it was over a week ago now wasn't it?

kaz - did you get through your list?

going to go and try to do something slightly useful, as otherwise my week will be lost babysitting and the house will take 20 steps back IYKWIM.

    Michelle, xx

It's taken me all day and all sorts of concoctions .. but the oven door (inside glass panel) is now sparkly clean :) It started off as a 5 minute job which turned in to a "you will not defeat me" challenge, LOL.

As a bonus side effect, my white plastic sink is now shiny clean too - thanks to the powers of Astonish .. it really is astonishing :) All the rust marks have gone and DH has been made to bow to the altar that is the sink :rotfl: .

We've now got another 11 paper bricks made slowly drying in the utility room, hate to think how long they're going to take to dry, I kinda over-egged the pudding with too much sawdust, more like moulding porridge DH said! That resulted unfortunately in him clogging the outside drain ... on the plus side ... another clean drain now :)

I know that the house needs a proper deep clean from top-to-bottom, I seem to recall that Moggins said that she was going to do a FLC in Sept, I think I shall have to get on the bandwagon with that.

I've been in a state of limbo with our house for a while as DH has been doing major works on the dining room, which has resulted in plaster dust throughout, but he is going to be doing the final piece of plastering tonight methinks ...

Right, time to find the TV, ignore the ironing and pour a voddie

    Evening All

Had a busy day at work, got back to grandmas to pick up dd in the nick of time as my neice was there as well and they were just starting to run rings round her. Went to dads to say happy birthday on the way home and give him is present, think he liked his book but you can never tell with my dad.

Taking tomorrow morning as lieu time so work is finished for the week. Have big plans for the morning which involve clearing a long garage shelf to use to make paper bricks. Will fill you in tomorrow.
