Catowen - he was two in June and he already has black out blinds. To be fair, I can't complain really - he goes to bed at seven and sleeps through till six with no problem. He is a very good little boy, I'm very lucky.

    Morning everyone.

Quick one for me i think. We are off to test drive another car in a bit, then visit DH's cousins new baby, and then back to crack on with the house. We've got my 16yo brother on standby for helping to carry things - i suppose my payback for helping him revise for his exam.

DH has already had to pop into work to sort out some idiot that couldn't organise him yesterday. He's currently sprucing up the car some more as the place we are going to look at the car have said they might part ex his. Fingers crossed.

We had a cheque in the post from the water company to compensate for me waiting for the meter reader teh other week. Nice £20 bonus. :T

Also a credit card bill i had already paid, but i need to pay the TV license, electic bill, and then the other post was DH's car insurance renewal. Luckily i was expecting these.

Best get on with the day aas it will be a long one i think.

    Hugs everyone.
If you've not gone already, have a fab time PP.

    Morning everybody.

Had a productive day so far so about to treat myself to a soak in the bath. :o

Sent off all my Try Me Free offers finally so looking forward to getting lots of cheques back.

Also opened a new joint bank account last night and trying to persuade the OH to open a Tesco savings account to get 1000 bonus clubcard points. Shame he's not so into MSE ways! :o

    Morning all

Lisa I hope you get the new job

Kaz, I think I agree with you, my DS is 12 too and I'd be very worried about all those late nights.

PP I hope you enjoy the holiday

Ajax have a great honeymoon, have you packed some cranberry tablets for the cystitis :D (they call it the honeymoon problem after all :D )

Purpleprincess, just think of the money hun? That should keep you going.

    hugs to anyone I've forgotten.

DD is driving me mad already. I think I might pack her off to the cellar in a minute if she doesn't behave :( DS hasn't come home yet, I was a bit of a worrywart last night but it's the first time he's stayed over at someone else's house.

Not much to do today bar some washing and wrapping DH's pressies for his birthday tomorrow. He will be home at 5.30 and off to work again tomorrow at 9 so I must get organised today.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    Morning everybody.

DD is with a friend and other DDs have not surfaced yet so I can play on the new computer- yippee:j

May made huge quiche later and will try to talk DH into driving me to Lidl.

Ordered another box set of comedy video as it is my dad's birthday on Tuesday and the one we got him the other day had him laughing out loud and took his mind off things for a while. So pleased we have found something that he can enjoy.

Better get dressed as Dd has a friend over.

    Morning all,

Busy day packing as we're off on holiday to France tomorrow. All quite excited as this is the kids' first holiday that isn't at their grandparents house! I'll be fine once we're on the way - I just panic a lot before hand - will the house be all right, is the dog still booked in at the kennels (should be -they cashed the deposit months ago) etc.

We're staying with a friend's family - she's coming too - which is good as her parents don't speak English - our French will improve rapidly.

I'm quite unstressed about the money though as I have been putting money away each month since I started the Money Diet thing and it's been nice to know that the money is already there for euros etc.

    Have a good week

    Hello everybody,

Well the footings are done. :j I will post some pictures tomorrow. DH hasn't loaded them on my computer yet. It's been crashing  again so this will be a quick post. Off to Ikea tomorrow to price bathroom stuff. Got my little price book where I've sourced all the best prices. ;)

Enjoy your holidays all those who are going. I haven't really read the post so will do that now. Enjoy your saturday. Oh XDIL & DGS is still up north with OS. Me thinks a reconciliation might be in the air. :kisses3: :D But I have been known to be wrong ;) Time will tell I suppose. I did fish around :p but didn't want to ask outright.

Have a great day and see you all later. :wave:Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi everyone!
Well here I am back at work again. Just spoken to OH and he's heard that his uncle died last night so not a good start to the day really. Oh well.
Other than that I am pleased to report that I found a bargain budget cookery book in the library sale yesterday for 70p. It's 30 years old and the way the food is presented looks like it would be more at home on the Good Life set but some of the recipes look really interesting and a bit different. Shall keep you posted!!
As per yesterday's thread we're off to a BBQ this afternoon. OH made a deleesh ginger and lemon cheesecake to take to it and I've been a cheapskate and bought some cheapie tins of bitter along with a big bottle of lemonade so small person can have the latter and OH and I can have shandy rather than vino to take with us.
I was planning to pop into a friend's party this evening but in view of the above news I think OH might appreciate some company so I think I'll cancel that.
Tomorrow we've discovered there's a free wildlife event being held locally with free refreshments...guess where we'll be headed! Last year we made a bird box there but the little blighters have steadfastly ignored it and continued to use the eaves!!
My current non fiction read [borrowed from the library of course!!] is Pamela Donald's 501 DIY supersavers...many an OS type tip to be found within its covers. More material for my OS folder I'm compiling.
    Have a great weekend
