Thanks for you input on the DS2 gig thing. He's only 12 and has been very good with his school work, but with all the practises we had a few problems with him doing homework... The Gigs aren't allways weekend gigs, they're often mid week - more often than not I'd say.
I think it's also affecting his 'social' life in a few ways. Firstly he was invited by some friends in the street to go to a new youth club with them - and band practice got in the way every time. Secondly, although I have allways been into the 'metal' scene, I'm not sure that this kind of place is a good place for a 12 year old at that time of night....
Plus of course there's the selfish side - having our day dictated by practice means it's hard to do anything worthwhile with them

Tra - I'll get the link to the last one - it's kind of a house organising/cleaning session.http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=213886&highlight=Flylady Hope that helps - but if it doesn't do ask awayJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

Morning All
This needs to be a quick one as DD is occupied for afew minutes.
PP have a great holiday
Kazoline maybe come to agreement with him that if there is over a certain number of gigs in a week that you take him to one of them and if his school work starts to suffer then he has to pull back.
Everybody else have a good day.
I've got a tonsillitus (sp) my throat feels like I'm swallowing razor blades. Not much on today as i need to get rid before monday, i have to tackle some washing though as we cant fit anything else in the basket. The weather is misrable so most of it will have to go in the dryer. Been reviewing our finances and need to work out how to save some money before winter so I'm going to do and audit on the electrical equipement in this house and work out what can be turned off.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Hi all,
At last I've got an avatar - had to ask DH for his help because I couldn't do it. It only took him a couple of minutesmind you he has been working in the computer industry since 1977 when the memory in our present computer would have taken up the space the size of a house:rotfl:.
PennyP - I'm with you on the pillows, people think I'm mad but it's also nice to have them in the car if you want a snooze.
Mrs MH good luck with the job.
Hello to Sophie's mum and kelinik and good wishes to everyone else.
Made my list of things to do this weekend, asked DH if he was going to the gym this morning and he said that he'd get up early to clean the windows but he's still asleep. he does get up early during the week to commute so I'm letting him lie in.
DS is still at the big Chill - he rang me at 1.30 yesterday morning to let me know he was alright - guarding an empty tent, but most of the festival goers hadn't turned up by then, I've not heard from him since.
DD has got her pic in OK mag from when she was working at the polo, not a very flettering pic though because she looks as if she's trying to bend down to the height of the girls around her (she's 5'11).
Better go and get started or my list will have to be torn up.

:rotfl: i am keen churchmouse but not that much:rotfl:
kaz- its difficult kaz, could he cut his commitment to the band a bit so he can do other things or is he really into it, i would imagine his schoolwork will increase as he gets older, but if he enjoys it, good luck with the gardening too
jockettuk- all the best to you in your new house, hope you will be very happy there0 -
Good morning everyone.
Just wanted to say buy for the next two weeks, as I am finally off on my honeymoon :j
I've arranged for a Czech friend to stay in our flat in the meantime and in return me and OH can stay with him in Prague for free over Christmas! Looking forward to it...
Well, off to Fruitstock today and then to Austria tomorrow!
Have a great two weeks everyone xx0 -
Good morning everyone
Goodness, loads of people up already!!!! welcome to sophies mum and kelinik.
Rose - glad the move went ok (and i love the thought of your new sig!!!!)
Kaz - its difficult to know what to do for the best with DS, i would say as long as it isnt affecting his school work, then you could go with it, but stress to him that school work comes first and if you see a drop, then you would have to think again!!! BTW, does he wear ear protectors? (im such an old worry!!!)
joannasmum - hope you feel better later (HUGS)
PP - have a wonderful holiday
Ajax - have a wonderful honeymoon
snoozer - love the poodle avy, is he yours?
Lisa - good luck with the interview on Monday!!!!
CM - good luck with your jobs today
twink - hope you get to your car boot
purpleprincess - hope you have a good day at work
tra - how old is your little one? maybe blackout blinds would help him sleep a bit later?
Hope i havnt left anyone out, sorry if i have, but hugs to everyone x
Well, busy day today, i have 2 mystery shops to do, also need to do a big shop at Tescos, and i need to goto Argos, as there are loads of things im needing there (i hate it when the new book comes out!!! but it is going to be DSs birthday in Sept, so some bits are for then!!)
Weather is meant to be nice, but its all cloudy at the moment, so hopefully it wont rain until we have finished. Also had a letter this morning that is being sent to childminders regarding the scam i found, feel quite proud that ive brought their attention to it!!!!
Right, better get in the shower and get moving, hope everyone has a lovely day
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Good morning all
Ajax - have a lovely time in Austria
PP - have a good holiday (although you've probably gone by the time I send this!)
jockettuk - best wishes in your new home. DS1 had a girlfriend from Aylesbury, we used to visit quite a bit then, it's a nice place to live.
I have got so many things to do today, am not sure where to start! When I finish on here I think I will write them all down & try and make some kind of priority order in which to tackle them. I just feel as if I want to go back to be & hope they'll go away!!! but have a sneaking suspicion that they will all be sitting there waiting for me whatever else I try to do.....
Have a good day!0
